Amir Kumar was born in New Delhi, India but was moved to the USA as a young child when his father took a computer programming job with a major, international delivery company. He trained as a doctor at Emory University in Atlanta , GA. There, he learned about Health For Humanity and was compelled to become a part of it.
He specialized in internal medicine, but spent extended time doing trauma medicine in an emergency room setting. When he finally finished all of his training, he joined Health For Humanity.
Aside from his work, he enjoys history, particularly how geology and geography played a part in cultural development. He has worked as a week-long volunteer on three archaeological digs around the world and reads extensively on cultures and histories.
