Her mother was friends with Roman’s business partner, Hanah Davis, who had recommended Hayes to be Roman’s assistant. Though she had just graduated from college with little real experience, she and Roman hit it off in the interview and she got the job.
Hayes and Roman are the main characters in the Complex Connections storyline.
