June State of the Union and Poll!
Added 2020-06-03 08:53:33 +0000 UTC~Oh my god it's June.~
(If you don't have time to read all this, please still try to voice your opinion and vote below!)
1) Hi friends! I hope everyone's doing well, both physically and mentally. I know there's been a lot of strain on everyone—myself included—with everything going on in the world, and I just want to genuinely, sincerely thank you all for being a part of this community and supporting one another.
2) For those that don't already know, I have been hard at work on my first physical product: the Cosmic Dragon Breviary. This will be a professionally designed, soft-bound mini-compendium of everything Cosmic Dragon—all the monsters, all the lore, all related player options (race, subclasses, magic items, etc.), and some wicked art, reasonably priced, printed and shipped.
My work on this, combined with the aforementioned current craziness of the world, has unfortunately dipped a bit into my typical twice-a-week release schedule, and for that I apologize. I promise this will be worth it (it's seriously looking incredible). I just wanted to be open with all of you about that, and ask for your patience as I finish this up.
3) Where do you want to see Spectre Creations go from here?
There have been several new major projects/endeavors I've been contemplating, and I want to ask for all of your input on the upcoming direction I focus my time and efforts. These will all likely eventually happen in some capacity, but what would you like to see me prioritize?
- A YouTube Channel – I've wanted to, for a while, venture forth into the YouTube scene with a high-quality, homebrew-focused channel. Give more extended and entertaining analysis related to my content (and others' content?) and D&D in general. A bit of behind the scenes on my design ideas. Those sorts of things.
This would of course, at least eventually, involve investing in things like a high-quality camera, lighting, microphone, etc., but it would also involve a good deal of time planning and editing. (Because, if you couldn't tell by my content, I am an undeniable perfectionist. XD) This has been a deterrent for me so far, simply because I know it would take away from me consistently releasing new content. It could even get to something like 1 new piece of content and 1 new video per week, rather than 2 new pieces of content.
To this point, I've felt more driven to just produce more usable D&D content for you guys, but if this seems like an avenue you'd find useful and entertaining, I would very much consider it. - More Breviaries/Physical Products! – (I know the first one isn't even out yet, but...) Breviaries will essentially be bite-sized, reasonably priced, 30-40 page mini-compendiums of thematically related content that you can actually have and hold!
As I currently do every part of this from creating the content itself, to doing the layout, graphic design, editing, playtesting, etc., these projects are also highly time-consuming. (See: "perfectionist" above. XD) That being said, I am extremely passionate about getting these sorts of products in your hands, and I already have numerous ideas for future ones. - The Gauntlet Arena Competitions/Website Leaderboard – This has likewise been a goal of mine nearly since the beginning, even before I started creating homebrew content! Diving further into support for the Arena System. Monthly challenges and prizes (e.g. giving away dice, D&D sourcebooks, copies of the MotG Handbook, etc.), and providing a competitive system where you can record and submit your groups' runs through the Arena and compare to other groups around the world. This one makes me so excited, and I know it could be an absolute blast for engaging with the community.
So please vote below (you can vote for more than one option), and please feel free to elaborate in the comments. I appreciate all of you. Keep being awesome, and as always...
See you in the Arena!

Oh are these physical products why not everything in the compendiums has the same artwork as their individual counterparts on the UE Reddit?
