October Update #1!

Major thanks to all of you for your continuing and growing support! Coming up on 100 patrons here and also nearing our goal of a website to host all things TheArenaGuy homebrew and The Gauntlet. (including an Arena leaderboard!)

Had a pretty productive past couple weeks, including not one but two great new subclasses. Let's dive in! :)

Beastlands Patron Warlock Has Arrived

• The Divine Beast Series |  A nature Warlock that trades in Eldritch Blast for a Celestial Beast companion! (feat. 5 demigod Beastlands patron monsters+Celestial Monkey familiar) (October 2nd | revision/compilation October 7th)

This was a long time coming and I am so happy with the final result. The implementation of this patron beast "pet" that all but replaces Eldritch Blast worked out wonderfully, and the simplicity of the beast's design and consistency of power, regardless of what animal you choose, was very well received. As u/traviopanda put it: "Even warlock does a better job at being a ranger than a ranger." XD

A Wizard's Dream Come True

• Subdimensional Study | A portable, private library that doubles as a mental fortress! (October 4th) 

This is a magic item I originally brewed for the big-brain Wizard in my campaign. He's absolutely loved the roleplaying aspects that arise as it's become part of his nightly ritual and "mentally superior" identity. Very fun thematically with powerful mechanics to back it up.

A 1/3 Caster Monk? Off the Cleric Spell List!

• Way of Transcendence: Monastic Tradition | A divine Monk in pursuit of their final form! (October 10th)

Man was this one fun. I genuinely can't think of a better central concept that plays right into the core Eastern religion themes of the Monk class. Pursuing enlightenment. Clarity of body, mind, and spirit. Attaining Nirvana. I had an absolute blast designing this along with some great insights from ScoobyDoom2 over on the Discord server.

The synergy of still getting to make an unarmed strike after casting a spell really goes a long way toward feeling like you're genuinely a gish Monk still getting to do Monk things. And the very flavorful boost to Concentration and 5-foot hovering ability are just so exciting. Can't wait to play this one!
