Beastlands Monster Suggestions (for possible upcoming Beastlands patron Warlock?)
Added 2019-09-14 22:07:12 +0000 UTCSo I've wanted to, for a while, create a nature-inclined Warlock subclass via a patron from the Beastlands. Primary issue is that...there aren't really any Beastlands monsters in 5e. And certainly one could just say "my patron is a really powerful majestic lion from the Beastlands," but I want this to be more tangible and have multiple examples of big powerful "Celestial Beasts" that would be worthy patrons for such a Warlock. Think on the level of Solars (angels) or demon lords/archdevils.
So this is your chance to jump in on the process! Please comment with any ideas for giant, animal-like, majestic monsters that would be fitting for the Beastlands, and if you'd like, also feel free to chime in with any thematic abilities you feel may work nicely with them!

It doesn't necessarily have to. It's just a common association. For example, there's nothing inherently "evil" about bats, but they're typically associated with devils and evil themes in D&D. So a giant bat in the Beastlands probably wouldn't be terribly fitting.

These are still considered Celestials. I do like the ideas of the Nemean lion and the Thunderbird though! Could possibly work some of those concepts in!

2019-09-15 03:43:07 +0000 UTCThere are a lot of animals in myths and legends. For instance the nymian lion from Hercules who is so powerful they almost can't be damaged, or the Thunderbird a bird that is so in tune with the sky they can command it. Or the chaos snake from Egypt who devours light. My point is decide what part of nature you want to develop, be it an animal (lion), an element (sky/lightning), or an attribute (darkness/chaos).

2019-09-14 23:46:20 +0000 UTCWhat about like a shadow panther that has the arms of hadar type abilities and aka like tendril/ /shadow abilities? Idk iβm not good at suggesting things. (Not quite like a displacer beast) or a beast like Ammit the Egyptian god
