This sounds incredibly stressful and I’m so sorry to hear about it as I know that the medication is an important part of … living well with schizophrenia!!!! …for you. I had a medication that was costing me thousands a year here in the US and had to start working more to get better insurance. Challenging situation. I hope that you find a good solution and am very concerned for you.

I'm lucky that I only have to pay roughly $15 for all of my medications here in the US, and I have a pretty basic insurance plan. Wishing you the best of luck in your situation!

Maybe you should talk to your local MPP about your situation. As for myself, if I were in your situation I would only stay on my antipsychotic and go with out the rest of your meds under a doctors supervision

Can't win for loosing. Truth is someone thinks they know your storey without walking in your shoes. But thats life there is no justice for any of us. Take your meds until your ready to get off. This illness runs a course. We are not doomed to hell. I am on meds and they work but they are not a life long plan. Getting off of them is not easy and withdraws mirror the symptoms of the illness. Be careful. Take them as long as you have to. But when you have experienced every symptom from paranoia to voices to depression there comes a time you grow out of this trap. Sorry if this ruffles feathers. But it is true for me.

Hi everyone! I pay 16$ (USD) each refill if I remember correctly. I work for a union so the insurance is pretty good.

I'm fortunate that my medication is free as I have diabetes. I too live in the UK.

I'm very proud and grateful of the UK's National Health Service which means people unfortunate enough to get sick are not having to choose between treatment and having enough money to live on. Medication for me is about £10 per month.

I remember a conversation I had with one of my earlier psychiatrists, and she said that with each relapse into psychosis, the long term prognosis of patients is worse. It was part of the discussion on how important the medication is and to stay on it, so I don't think you should go off your meds unless you have to.
