2022-04-12 02:20:12 +0000 UTCSo black bears are timid and prefer to avoid fights. That's why you make yourself bigger(wave arms, group up if you're not alone) and yell at it. Grizzlies might take that as a threat and be provoked so with them you want to slowly back away and keep a calm voice, so they don't get startled. If a polar bear takes interest in you, it's only trying to kill you. And if any of the types are a mom with a cub she will also be seeking your death. I've spent time in Canada and you have to know this

2022-04-12 00:41:09 +0000 UTCI think on black bears it’s make yourself big and make tons of noise. Never run on any bear. I think it’s almost always make yourself big and shout. Except on Grizzlies and Polar. When you meet those you get lucky or get dead. Just never run 🤷🏻♂️
