And yet, according to Carol, Alex has been barefoot outside while goofing off. So, either A) Carol obsessively cleaned Alex's feet after she got stuck in the tent. And then she started tickling her for the hell of it. B) Alex was being a good girl, and she was wearing her shoes outside. But, after Alex got stuck in the tent, Carol took her shoes off to bully her. ... Yes, before someone comes over, I know there isn't a lore reason for this. It's just a variant. But I like my lore explanation.
