The Last of Us 1x2 Full REACTION

My God this series is creepy, the end make-out session with Tess was beyond freaky! But I really love where this series is going. The Mycologist in Indonesia telling the soldier to start dropping bombs on them was chilling.

This world is more an understandable version of a zombie apocalypse 'cause they are people that have been infected with the fungi. They are not undead or anything like that. They are alive, so they can be killed and eventually they die, like Joel said and the doctor implied in the first episode. The fungi puppets the bodies and it consumes the body and staves off decomposition but eventually the body can no longer function because too much of it is consumed by the fungi and the body dies and after that, eventually, so does the fungus, like all those bodies in the museum. As Joel said, some last longer than others. Point being that once they're dead/killed, they're not going to get up and attack. Shooting them in the head kills them quickly 'cause they can't puppet someone without a functioning brain.

Yes, the flashbacks, like I said previously, are an addition of the show to the story that weren't in the game and they definitely add another level of chilling, like you said. For the one in the first episode, it literally sent a chill up the back of my neck when the infectious disease guy pauses, with a slight smile, and says "We lose." Then, in this episode, the mycologist is chilled and when the specialist is freaked out, the thought and over all feeling we get is, "Oh, we're fucked." But, the thing that's really chilling is that she wasn't separating herself from her solution. She didn't say "Bomb" expecting to be whisked away to some bunker where she would be safe and screw everyone else. No, she said it fully meaning to bomb ALL of us and "Could you just let me get home so I can spend the last bit of time I have with my family." Sheesh. Great stuff. Yeah, that "make-out session" with Tess was super creepy and disgusting. I saw an interview with Anna Torv where she said that she hadn't played the games and didn't really know the story or anything so when they gave her direction on that scene, she was like, "Uhm, OK. I don't know what's happening, but...OK." πŸ˜‚ Just as a heads-up, they didn't have the tendrils in the game as a way of infection. So, that is not how Tess dies. It was less disgusting and about the same level of badass. Infection in the game is basically from the bite, which is the same here, as a means, but it was bites and spores, but since the spores weren't even a gameplay thing (when there are places with spores, your character automatically puts on a gas mask. It was mainly a storytelling device to show that Ellie could not become infected) and it would not be realistic since you wouldn't be able to see spore coming to put on a mask, they left that out of the show and went with the tendrils. Another addition from the show, but that is more realistic, is the stepping on a patch and it signaling other infected because it's part of the network that runs underground. So, they took away the spores, but added the mycelial network, which adds another level of creepy.

The next episode is one of my favorite episode of any TV Series I've watched so far, I hope you will like it too :)
