The Expanse 6x5 Full REACTION

It is almost the end...one more week of this amazing show. What next? What Should I do after this series?

The Expanse 6x5 Full REACTION

Andor is a good choice, it also fits quite well chronologically for where Imon currently is in the timeline

Yeah it's definitely not as well written as the Expanse that's quite strong all the way through, just thought it'd be fitting if we're sticking to the space theme

Steffen K

Its pretty good. The space stuff is super well done. Story-wise... it follows the pattern of other Ronald D. Moore (the showrunner) shows (e.g. Battlestar Galactica) where it starts brilliantly, then takes some wrong/boring/unintersting turns. FAM in particular is a bit soap opera-y. Still worth a watch, though.

"For All Mankind" would actually be a decent choice, in many ways it almost feels like an unofficial prequel to "The Expanse".

Steffen K

The Orville is also quite good.

Have you watched Andor? Might be a good show to watch after you finish The Expanse.

When Nico Sanjrani says to Drummer, "How does it feel to be a tool of the inners?" that pissed me off. Nico and Ceres station would be starving if it hadn't been for Drummer. How about some gratitude to Drummer Nico? The end discussion between Drummer and Avasarala seemed a bit rehearsed and scripted. I bet Avasarala and Drummer made the agreement in private and then did that talk in public for appearances sake.

Nice Recar. Tony. Perssonally, I think the introduction of the "Strange Dogs" story is an indication that Alcon Entertainment feels they can carry the story forward at some point (more seasons, movies, etc.). We justhave to keep our fingers crossed.

Imon, are you sick *again*? Wow. Hope you're better soon. I think you're so right about change and redemption being an important theme of this series. And, you know, this is how life works for most people, which is why it's so important in fiction to show the same forces at work. Otherwise, it would come off feeling false. But also, it's important that people change for reasons that make sense, that it's not just change for change's sake. And I think that's a place where the writers of this series do such a great job. All of these things are believable because they put in the work to *make* them believable. Pretty amazing. I don't want to say too much about the "dogs" on Laconia at this point; maybe after the last episode I will. I think you may end up a little disappointed in the end, because not everything is fully explained before the season is out. It was that way in the books too, though. The Cara & Xan story line is just getting started, and this was sort of a prelude to that story, an origin story without (so far) much follow-up. Cara and Xan are a pretty important part of the last three books, though, so I continue to hope that those get adapted for TV or film or something sooner than later. But if they don't, you an always check out the book series. It's really well done. And if you don't have time for reading -- and believe me, I know that problem well -- you should try the audiobooks. They are also excellent. Or, you can wait for seasons 7, 8, and 9, and hold out hope like the rest of us. 😊 It's painful, but it's a good kind of pain. That's what I tell myself, anyway. Looking forward to the big finale next week. Meantime, take something for that cough and get some rest (if life allows)!

Like the point about "Karma" versus the reality of choices paying off for the good or the bad in this life. As you stated sometimes the ripples of those choices can come quickly and some can ripple out years later.
