Stepford Falls

It was about the end of the summer, and classes will soon start at again.

"Oh, good heavens darling, that sounds incredible ludicrous", Tambry expressed to Wendy, as both walked through the hallways of her Gravity Falls high school, after signing up for their incoming courses.

"I know!" the redhaired girl replied. "It's just, I'm aware they're kids from out of town, but even with that in mind, their minds seemed to be a little wilder than what I used to at her age".

They had the feeling things in California were a little different, but judging by the things the Dipper twins exposed, it was like they were from another planet!

They talked about how the entire town was supposed to be different, and that if anything, every detail, from the cars to the homes to even the fashion was very, well, old-fashioned!

“Can you believe they say that about our dresses?” Wendy questioned. "Like, it was unusual for girls our age to look like this."

“I cannot lie: that actually hurt a little”, Tambry answered. “It feel like it was a critique, but that wasn’t the weirdest thing, you know?”

“Oh, right! What did they say about that phone thing? Sale phone? Soul phone?”

“Can’t remember, but it sounded like some sort of sci-fi artifact. Like a mini-computer or something: that Dipper kid has been watching A LOT of space movies, and you were apparently adicted to them?"

"Did they hit their heads?" Tambry said. "What year did they say…?”

“2012”, Wendy replied. “You know, they were off by only around seven decades”.

“And they even said you were a…”

“A lumberjack!” the redhead giggled. “Can you believe it? A FEMALE LUMBERJACK?!”

“Now THAT’S some good sci-fi!”

“My dad is, and so are my brothers, yes, but… like, me?! My nails would get ruined! And my hair! DO you have any idea of how long does it take to take care of it! Going to the salon!”

“Uh, duh Wendy, of course I do!” Tambry jokingly interrupted. “I go with you every time!”

They both giggled some more, but things being fair, they were at least somewhat concerned about how those siblings acted: talking about a so-called book that never existed, or about weird, supernatural phenomenA all over town. If anything, Gravity Falls is a little boring, so ghosts, vampires or gnomes would be a nice change of pace.

But those kids were at a point they should stop talking about childhood fantasies.

“Maybe we should do about them” Wendy suggested. “This is a sleepy community, I can see why those  two would be bored around here.”

“Perhaps Mabel could use some femenine company?” Tambry suggested. “We should take her to the beauty salon next time, maybe give her a makeover; that clothes she wears it’s just… not very swell.”

“Can you believe she even suggested I wore pants? AT PUBLIC?!” Wendy recalled.

“Well, it matches her ‘girl lumberjack’ idea!”

As they both exited the high school’s hallways, both girls took one last look at her schedule.

“So, we have the same classes, right?” Tambry asked.

“Yeah, like all the other female students: Cooking, Knitting, Fashion Design, Home Decoration, Home Cleaning, and…”

“...cheerleading as activity” Tambry added.

“Neat! Then we’re all set up!”

Both girls smiled and left the building, knowing the next school year promised to be quite swell.
