Outlander 5x7 Full REACTION

What a heartbreaking episode. So many things are lost to greed and not being content, and we really see that play out within this episode. We lost a special character this episode. My heart still breaks..

Outlander 5x7 Full REACTION

Hi Imon, It was actually Sam's idea that Jamie be forced to wear the Redcoat. He knew that after everything that the Redcoats did to him, it would be a shock and I believe everyone had a similar reaction that you did when we see him in it. Sam's performance was so heartbreaking. He was absolutely brilliant and what Murtaugh said, it doesn't hurt to die, was taken directly from the book when he died at Culloden. Sam and Caitriona became producers in this season 5. They are very protective of their characters and wanted to have more of a say basically. I also think it was because a lot of people were angry with how different the season 4 finale was from the book. We wanted to see Claire and Jamie make it back in time for Bree to have her baby like in the book. I personally was really looking forward to seeing Claire delivering the baby and Jamie up by Bree's head holding her hand, but looking like a deer in headlights. Can you picture Claire barking orders about pushing and Jamie wanting to run out of the room, but Bree is yelling at him to stay by her side. Those would've been great scenes to watch. I don't know why they changed it.

I loved the scene at the start with Jamie and Claire, his birthday. I love the way she looks at him, the way she gently kisses him. The love they share. I like when Jamie spoke of Dougal, it seems so long since we last saw him. And not the Dougal with hair. After I finish watching Outlander I can't wait to go back and watch it all again. It's always different watching a series again when you know how it's gonna end, plus I love when I forget little things and then see it again. I loved your reaction when Jamie puts on that Redcoat. Then later when you said that 10 years ago he would never have put on that coat, but he's wiser now. I loved what he said to his men before battle. "We go in hard. Protect ourselves. We're not here to kill our brothers. We're here to end this. Put the fear of god into them, they'll retreat. This doesna have to be a massacre. Take prisoners. Save souls." It's sad that Murtagh's gone, the way Jamie kept screaming, "Help me! Help me now!" He brings him back to Claire, he begs for her to heal him, to save him. She tells him she can't, that he's gone. Jamie then tells Murtagh that he can't leave him, but he's already gone. Claire cries, "My friend" she says. I love that Murtagh got to meet Claire, he knew she was the one for Jamie. I loved your talk at the end, I won't quote you like I usually do. I know it's weird when I do that, the things I say. I just love watching these with you. I always do. Beautiful <3

For explanation: The Dougal actor Played his son with Geillis named William Buck Mackenzie in this episode. Dougal, Geillis and his son William and his wife Morag are Rogers ancestors, his 6 or 7 times great grandparents….so crazy, right 😜!

Graham McTavish, who played Dougal, also played Roger Mac's ancestor in that scene.

Kimberly Graham

I think Sam and Caitriona started producing in Season 4 or 5, can't recall which.

Ugh, this episode is so utterly sad. Sam Heughan's acting is so excellent in this one. (Wondered about Ep 6, too, but I can't wait so I'm watching this one before it anyway!)

It is a heartbreaking one, but well done! did you post the episode before this 5x6? I don’t see it for some reason…
