I love that your are reacting to this show. It shows different perspectives on religion and who is right. What did Nada do that deserved Hell? Not quite related, but I think you would quite like the show His Dark Materials. If you saw the move from around 10 years ago the movie doesn't do the book series justice and the show does better. The author is an avowed atheist, and his religious views are somewhat reflected in his views. Overall, the show has important stories about the power of control vs freedom. And I think you would like the concept of daemons and how they play out on screen.

We should get the Nada (the woman Morpheus sent to hell) backstory in the next couple of seasons if Netflix continues to renew. There are some really good "short stories" that I hope they don't skip.

The thing with Nada and Dream suddenly becoming another actor is that the Endless appear differently for each observer. The show scrubbed out many of the DC comic elements but in the comics Morpheus goes to see the Justice League to help find the Ruby. He meets up with a couple of them, one being The Martian Manhunter and Dream appears to him as flaming skull called Lord L’Zoril. The Endless are concepts not beings so an individuals culture and belief structure define what each of the Endless look like, for simplicity we just stick with one actor for Morpheus and the other Endless, generally.
