Star Wars Episode 3: Revenge of the Sith Full Reaction

I'm late to this but it's not just Anakins fear of loss that drove him to make his choices. Being groomed from like 9 years old by Palpatine who's a literal predator made him trust in him over the Jedi who are hypocritical and let their own arrogance and dogma drive them to be warmongers. Grooming is a real thing and its dark as fuck. Only a master manipulator like Palpatine could pull it off, so it makes sense hes got his hooks so deep in Anakin. It's not on Anakin really that he trusts him more. They Jedi alienated Anakin, and then used him when convenient. He's not a dummy for not suddenly listening to those sussy people 😅 They couldn't even sense the evil of Palpatine until it was too late all because of how content they were with doing the Senate's bidding and believing they were still in the right. Thats arrogance incarnate. You should watch the Clone Wars with your boys. It takes place between Episode 2 and 3. It really shows the complexity of the war and Anakins growth but the Jedi and how deeply they share the blame for it all. For Anakin, the war, and the rise of the Empire. Pretty much everyone in Anakins life besides Padme had failed him. You dont tell someone with that much trauma (or anyone for that matter) to just not feel pain or fear. You are supposed to grieve. You are supposed to miss them. It's part of the process, that ends with making peace that they are gone. The fact that they taught him to shove it down and never listen to his feelings is just wrong. Obi Wan also was just not the right mentor for him. If Qui Gon didn't die, Anakin wouldn't have turned for sure. His whole story is such a tragedy because the cards were stacked against him from the start and the people who were supposed to help him left him at the mercy of a garbage bag like Palpatine.

I think my favorite scene in this, outside of the outstanding lightsaber battle between Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin at the end, is the scene where Padmé and Anakin stare at each other through the distance. I always feel all the anxiety, depression, guilt, and internal suffering Anakin is going through. To me, even though Padmé wasn’t aware of what he was about to do, it felt like she could feel his suffering and was almost trying to reach out to him. All I wanted to see was Anakin stay where he was or come home to her instead. But he let the fear of losing her take control, which to me was why made his decision. Out of fear. Fear is indeed a path to the dark side.

As sad as Order 66 is in the movies, it feels so much worse with the full context of The Clone Wars. :c

Honestly I like this machete viewing of the Star Wars Trilogy. It is a very interesting take. Thank you for the reaction!

This was really great! Very emotional for sure, and thank you. This movie definitely shows the many perspectives of death. I really appreciate these movies so much for their messages

Thanks Imon, always a fun movie to revisit. I thought the after video discussion was very moving, you really put yourself out there. It's hard to put into words but your thoughts on addressing loss was powerful. This is something we all have to discuss with our kids, or we as children have brought up with our parents at one point or another. Thank you very much. Also, I'd recommend watching rogue one again, it will hit so much harder now.
