I think you should rewatch the scene. Powder broke down after noticing Vander and the goggles.

2022-10-09 06:20:17 +0000 UTCBut in my mind he died as Vander. Silco was wrong. "there is a monster in all of us" - Vander chose to help his daughter rather than to rage out and kill his enemy. So yes, he looked like a monster, but inside he was the same man he always was- a good person.

Makes me wonder if powder was always mentally broken because she saw the glasses of her friend and vander but didn't react. She literally only wanted vi to praise her.
