Regarding the timeline, this is set around 50 years before the prologue of LOTR (they compressed the timeline) and that is set 3,000 years before the actual events of LOTR. So just keep that in mind moving forward, likely only elves and Maiar (Wizards,Sauron,Balrogs etc) would be alive in the events of LOTR
