Not a big Eli fan but I did see this little torture porn adventure back in '05 and have ignored it ever since.
Then I saw Mary "I HATE THAT TINY MAN!!" Cherry was watching it so I'm like, I've got to see this.
And you didn't disappoint. Thanks Mary.
Also if you thought this was effed up, I don't know what dumpster my copy of the film came from but had an even worse ending involving the Dutch pay-to-play torturer's daughter.
So ya... going back to ignoring most of Eli Roth's filmography.
Cheers.

Mary, when Paxton first learned what the "art museum" was, he saw Josh's dead body and The Dutch Businessman was seen sewing him up like taxidermy or something.

Based on some of your past reactions where gore or bodily functions made you queasy I'm really impressed you sat through this movie. * *Spoiler Alert** (for a 19 year old movie) The version I was watching had a different ending. The german guy that killed Josh was waiting for his daughter and she doesn't come out of the bathroom. So goes he goes in there to get her and only finds her teddy bear. He panics and is running around the station and can't find her. Then it cuts to Paxton on the train with the girl and his hand over her mouth as the train is pulling away from the station and the movie ends. I thought most of the movie was a bit cheesy but the ending and the double tap that Paxton did with the car made me say ,Oh Shit!, out loud.

What i don't go crazy for is when the movies are more about the "enjoyment" of the kill instead of the chase. Where there are extended scenes of people getting cut into.. Who is this for lol? i like the traditional horror where you're rooting for the people to get away and not fetishizing the blood. Not knocking it. its a thrill ride and some people love that.

You could tell that Quentin Tarantino had his hands on this movie, with Pulp Fiction playing on the television in the background. And one of the first things they do is start cutting up the feet: "No, No, not the Toe." You asked how Paxton knew that the Dutch Businessman was part of Elite Hunting; when Natalya first brings Paxton to the torture factory, Paxton looks into a room and sees the Dutch Businessman dissecting Josh's corpse. Both Paxton and the Dutch Businessman make eye contact, remember? You remind me of myself; the two hardest things for me to watch were the eyeball scene and the puking. Another Eli Roth and Quentin Tarantino movie you should check out is Inglourious Basterds (2009)
