A big reason you don't see tight knit communities anymore is because people don't trust that freely anymore. I remember back in the day as a kid i'd playing with my friends in the neighborhood and like all the parents knew each other and trusted their kids with other parents. I mean I get it to some extend though. I think more honesty would go a long way in the world. So many people are shady with their intentions.
