If they had just settled for adding or touching up special effects, it would have been okay, but they totally ruined other things. I think you know the "Han Shot First" thing - Greedo did not shoot at all in the original film. He didn't have time - Han just killed him. I guess Lucas thought it needed sanitising in some way. Stupid. That scene afterwards between Han and Jabba was not in the original film, as they didn't have "Jabba" yet. And given the later Jabba design, it just didn't work with the original footage they had shot (where Jabba was just a man). The amendments to the end of Return of the Jedi are a pain on the soul of the original fans. I live in denial! If you haven't watched it yet, I can give you the original version. (In fact, I can give you OG of IV, V and VI so you can see what they changed). p.s. this comment is before watching your reaction - I just skipped to the "Han Shot First" bit to see what you were watching
