2022-05-23 07:58:32 +0000 UTCSo this is historical fiction. While Commodus really did fight as a gladiator and stumbled his way through his increasing insanity, he didn’t die in a public fight. He was murdered in his bath. He had his sister killed after a failed plot to assassinate him, so she didn’t outlive him as the movie suggests, nor did he murder his father.
