Midnight Mass Ep 06 FULL REACTION

babies are technically parasites so it makes sense

This episode just really shows how easily religion can be corrupted and misued. I was incredibly shocked when ali straight up said fuck you dad god first. I'm sure there are some people in real life who if they were put in this exact situation they would drink the poison, betray family and all that because it must be god's will.

'This show is 'f'cking psychotic I love it..' haha

Apologies for the multiple posts but my patreon subscription is running out soon haha. I know you said you don't like horror but if you enjoyed this I really hope you consider checking out Flannagan's other shows Bly Manor and Hill House. If Midnight Mass is a 5 on the horror scale Bly Manor is maybe a 6 and just as good in it's own way. And while Hill House is traditionally 'scarier' the family dynamics and acting and characters and story is just amazing and the kind of content I think you'd love to react to because it deals so well with family and trauma and love and relationships. Even if you don't i've really enjoyed you're reaction to this show. It's so good

They don't know about vampires. Mike Flanagan has said that vampires were not a part of this world's pop culture. I see you get increasingly angry at the townsfolk fort not seeing this but they literally don't even know the word "vampire" that's why when Monsignor Pruitt was in the cave his mind found the word "angel" for what was happening to him. They have no idea of the concept of vampires.

And I don't know if it was ever explicitly mentioned but I think you're supposed to accept this world as one where vampires aren't a known entity. I think it was a choice Flannagan made on purpose so people wouldn't be confused about who and what he believed to be the real threats and dangers in his story. He didn't want people coming away from this series talking about the dangers of vampires. But the vampire/religious comparisons were clearly a huge inspiration for him writing this story.

For me, Riley seeing the woman he killed smiling and forgiving him at the end was him finally forgiving himself. Her appearances have been a representation of his own guilt throughout the series and because Riley doesn't believe in heaven or the afterlife or life after death it feels right to me to interpret his vision of her as him finally forgiving himself or feeling like at least in some way he'd atoned for what he had done.
