This is an all time favorite episode of mine. Really showcases a lot of facets of characters that don’t get explored and we get to dive into the more authentic and unsarcastic side of community for a bit.

2022-03-18 17:12:56 +0000 UTCWow, great discussion about drinking. Once Were Warriors is a heavy film, something you only watch once but the impact of it is something you'll always remember. Describing it as a slap in the face is perfect. It's great how the opening scene shows a billboard as NZ is depicted in media; paradise. Then cut to what's really going on in some communities and the reality of the film. Here in NZ alcohol is such an ingrained part of our culture, especially binge drinking. Your discussion has shone a light on that for me because it is a horrible substance and it's quite crazy that's it's the legal, advertised and romanticised one when it causes the most harm.

2022-03-16 05:00:44 +0000 UTCI don't think he threw the drink because he wouldn't have sex with him, he was mad that Abed knew full well he was hitting on him the whole time and from his perspective was stinging him along for fun, throwing the drink was absolutely excessive and I don't condone it in the slightest, but i think it was more an action born of feeling humiliated as opposed to feeling owed sex... trust me, as a gay guy, hitting on another guy is already scary and at a bar like that it's a gamble... it probably wasn't written like that, but that's how it came off to me.
