Mr. Robot 4x11 FULL REACTION

Mr. Robot 4x11 FULL REACTION

Abi's bizarre idea about how Whiterose is hypocritical for holding herself to a high standard but not outing herself to the world I get how she might want to think that to project some hypocrisy onto the villain, but it's very much "I dont know much about trans issues" lol

tom

Who said it's a moral failing?

Brandon B.

All villains have that same line of thought as whiterose. Something traumatic happened to them growing up and now all of a sudden they think they know what's best for everyone. Very selfish way of thinking.

Dune

I kind of have to call bullshit on the idea that a trans person not being out and open is some moral failing on their part, or something that speaks negatively to their character. Not only is it perfectly understandable in this day and age but Mr Robot is set in 2015 when things were even worse for trans people

Remember seasons ago when we first saw inside the Washington Township nuclear power plant and one of the scientists was giving a tour to a group of people, he was talking about the possibility of there being alternate universes and copies of ourselves. And then you have the conversation White Rose had with Angela about her telling Elliot "what if we could make it like our parents never died" and her belief that the thousands of people who died in the cyber bombings were going to come back. It's also why every member of the Dark Army is willing to kill themselves because they believe in this project that's going to bring about a better reality. There have been scattered hints like that about White Rose's belief in better, alternate dimensions since the beginning. That's what her entire reactor project was about, a machine that could breach time and space to transport ourselves to this better world. On first viewing, I totally understand your confusion. I had confusion too. It also ties in with Elliot's DID, his different personas each being different than himself and appearing when Elliot needs them most--copies of ourselves, seemingly the same but also different in many ways. Elliot's speech to White Rose about believing in this world despite all its flaws and refusing to give up on it is important too, both on a macro (world) level and micro (the self).

The ties back into season 1 were much heavier than I remembered. I liked that the fishbowl had the same cross pattern as the glass doors on the front of the power plant. -The power plant does look like the Simpsons. We saw a brief glimpse of it back on the 90s road trip episode you were also talking about. As a foreigner I didn't get the Full House or Family Matters references , I just got Simpsons + generic US 90s sitcom vibes. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ihg7cPS467U

Thanks for the reaction! Are you going to be watching the last two episodes back-to-back? And do you plan on releasing them on the same day by any chance? :D
