Mr. Robot 4x7 REACTION

Comments

As of writing this, this is the 4th highest rated episode on all of IMDB with a 9.9 out of 10

Also, it is quite scary how good of a manipulator Vera is (and what a great actor Elliot Villar is), that even after everything he had said and done prior to the climax, you were still more than willing to give him the benefit of the doubt and thought he was being genuine in his last scene with Elliott.

Andrew

Darlene didn't know. Don't forget, she was no older than 5 when their father died. Kids barely remember much from that age, and even if she witnessed anything, she wouldn't know what it was she was saying.

Andrew

I actually think it's both. Truly. Hell, it's even scarier to me that it is.

Isaac

I agree with others on here. Vera was manipulating Elliot for control and nothing good will have come from it

Lorraine Casey

I don't think Darlene knew. Remember she said to Elliot she wishes she could remember him. She seems to have rose tinted lens when it comes to their dad, because he died when she was very young EDIT: Also end of S3, "for some reason you flipped out and told me to hide". She wouldn't have been so casual/confused about that time if she knew what was going on

Yeah like others are saying, the way Vera acted towards Elliot was all intentional by him. He seems to be a very emotional person so I think he was being genuine, but he said in the very beginning that he was gonna break him so he can build him back up. So it's important to keep in mind Krista really saved Elliot's soul there by stabbing Vera

tom

In relation to how you guys were mentioning that this reveal has changed your perspective of the entire show, you might also remember that at the beginning of the very first episode, Elliot takes down a man who is selling child pornography. Then again at the beginning of season 4, he hacks the lawyer who consumes child pornography. So some subtle hinting there by way of Elliot's actions

Sundays

And it shows how insidious that type of behavior is and how easy it is to get wrapped up in because even both of you felt like he was being genuine at the end even though he said up front this was his plan lmao.

Vera's entire villain plan is just running the abusive boyfriend playbook. He already said his plan was to break Elliot so that he could be the one to make him better, because that's how you "own" someone. He spent the whole episode physically and emotionally threatening him and breaking him down - and then after forcing his therapist to deliver a deep, sudden psychological blow, he starts being soft and caring and saying all the right things and telling Elliot that he isn't alone because he has Vera. It's something I've never seen from a villain before and it's fascinating but absolutely nasty

autumn

Yeah it was amazing!

In my opinion this is one of, if not the, best episode in TV history. Hats off to Sam Esmail and Rami Malek for this magnum opus. I was completely blown away the first time I saw this episode and its ending.
