The sailing teacher is played by Lee Majors, TV star from the 70's ("The Six Million Dollar Man") and the 80's ("The Fall Guy").

Oh yeah we should probably make sure to keep track of that and other deleted episodes so they can remember to watch it

Love yourself and Improve yourself... 2 things the show wants you to take away. Agree completely though. They speak on how to be a better you, but in a very personal way... not a societal way.
I personally love when they (the reactors) talk about the show in depth in regards to that stuff though anyway. It's way more enjoyable than just "yea that was funny... next". I can't wait to get their thoughts on the episode that was removed from Netflix and Hulu in season 2. That will be the best talk.

The he's Buster! moment had very heavy Buster energy.

There's quite a few references in this one haha.
The shot at the end is a direct reference to the last scene of Psycho. Here it is if you haven't seen it: https://youtu.be/dYDxxHrlmUg?t=79
I don't usually catch these but I noticed it immediately the first time I watched it
I think the shot of the ship through the classroom window is also some reference but I'm not sure what. It could just be a common cinematography choice
Don't worry about people not wanting the deep conversations. Community does touch on a lot and it has those life lessons, so I would say it's warranted to talk about these things. Tho I will say those life lessons in this series are usually more personal and broad like "love yourself" rather than "the political nuances and impacts of specific vocabulary on minority groups" etc. These days those sort of complex sociological topics are a lot more discussed by the broader public than they were back when the show was created
