My Hero Academia 5x23 - "Tenko Shimura: Origin" REACTION!!

Disagree. Many people have strict fathers. The rest of Tenko's family were pretty loving. We see his mother being very sweet to him, trying to help with what they think is a medical condition. His father hit him only the once (at the end). So he wasn't particularly happy, but not particularly unhappy. He was however constantly itchy, which we discover was his power trying to come out. The itch dies down when he killed his family (and despite his initial words, he goes on to say that although he did not know when he killed his siter, he knew what he was doing before he got to his father - he definitely had murderous instincts). That happened before he met AFO. Maybe the nature of the quirk is a manifestation of who the person is? If some good person had been kind to him then, he might have turned out okay with some counselling, but we'll never know, because AFO made sure he got completely twisted.

One of the things I love about MHA has been the slow buildup to this violence and dark storyline. Horikoshi has been feeding us a bit of this at a time, to the point that a lot of people find it hard to realise that the story can get this dark. That's the brilliance of his slow build to it.

It just goes to show you -- no one is born evil. A child with a desire to help others is beaten and betrayed by those supposed to care for him the most. So now, all he knows is hate and resentment. Give that child a bazooka... everyone dies. You're right. Tenko was an easy grab for All for One. He didn't have to do anything else but say, "I see you." Scary. Edit: I heard your Todoroki comparison and wanted to add my thoughts. We have to keep in mind that Todokori had a very supportive family outside of Endeavor. Even before his mom burnt him, she still raised him well and showered him with love. That's why he spent so many years using his ice powers only -- the love of his mother. Tenko never learned how to love. His father dominated the entire household, and the only person brave enough to show him love... he killed. So yeah, both are similar but completely different.

Or without episode about quirks of class A. At the beggining of every damn season...

Vagabond

Funny enough the Christmas episode is canon. Coulda gone without the beach episode tho.

Otter Mane

His quirk hadn't showed up yet which is actually another reason they might've not wanted him to aspire to be a hero can't really be a hero without a quirk also I find it interesting you think they went too hard here when a bunch of manga readers wanted them to go harder but I actually agree with you they don't need to show every miserable detail also there's only so much they can do without getting complaints from JP TV I remember Gundam had a situation where they had complaints because it showed child soldiers executing people and it was in Primetime same applies to MHA

Daniel Gonzalez

Also Allmight didn't know she had a son, thats why he's so shocked when he finds out in Kamino

Hunter2

See you in a week guys for episode 5x24 xD

The manga his quirk doesn’t “turn things to dust” it’s a lot more graphic like in this episode it normally shows the cracks and then they fall apart
