BoJack Horseman 6x11 FULL REACTION

BoJack Horseman 6x11 FULL REACTION

I hate the framing of this episode. He didn't give her heroin. She found it in his glove compartment aand chose to take it.

Honestly sometimes that makes it worse. Like with Penny. He openly acknowledged how wrong it would be the first time she came on to him and he stopped it. So that means later when he was actually going through with it he did so knowing full well how wrong it was.

Diane said it well last season. You can't make it right. You can't undo the things you've done. You can just acknowledge, show sincere remorse, and try to be better.

Steelburgh

At the end of the day, no matter how much you've changed, if you don't address the things you've done in the past you can't really move on from the person you used to be. That's where bojack messed up. Thinking everything would be fine and his past wouldn't come back to haunt him but one way or another it always does.

Dune

"Because he's modest!" such a slept on line. I wouldn't say Bojack is at fault in any legal sense... it's just putting on display how he recklessly uses other humans as emotional buoys. Sure it's due to his emotional damage from his upbringing, but he does exploit everyone for his own needs. Even his new life was started trying to jam himself into Hollyhock's life because he feels good having her in his life, but didn't consider how overbearing and abrasive the situation could be for her. I'm not 100% on this, but I'm pretty sure that cleaning Diane's place in Chicago and telling PC "Maybe the happy ending is letting me go" are the only two things he does in the show that aren't motivated by his personal needs. (Edit: By personal needs: I mean his unhealthy framework of behaviors to think of himself as good or feel validated in some other way)

Foaming Clean

The episode ended with Bojack doing a monologue and Sarah Lynn not responding and then he said, "Sarah Lynn?...." and then cut to black. And the next episode showed Bojack talking to the cops saying she called him and he rushed over and found her dead.

It sucks that you can try your best to repair your life and things from the past still come back to haunt you. In a lot of cases though, we only have ourselves to blame and a part of moving forward in a healthy way is acknowledging and taking responsibility for our short comings, not avoiding them. The question of legal judgement vs moral judgement for Bojack is interesting. We know the Penny situation was completely wrong regardless of the legal age of consent there. Similarly Sarah Lynn was an adult making her own choices, but we can all see how Bojack is morally wrong for the bad influence he was on her and how things went with her. Even down to the heroine Bojack says he gave it to her to Diane but really Sarah Lynn found it in his glove compartment. Bojack even weakly attempted to suggest not doing it. Still does this make his decisions and how they effected others better? Morally it doesn't seem so.

Purple Hearts

Ended with him saying Sarah Lynn?

not sure if there's any legal repercussions beyond him possessing heroin, just moral ones. I'm... mixed on the situation cause it was bad but he was under the influence too relapsing, so fellow addicts encouraging each other to go further is an avalanche of disaster.
