The rubber ducky (as sold at that time) had payloads that transfer passwords, usernames, credit card details, other common bits from the hard drive and the RAM on the computer to the mini SD card on the USB stick. She might have been able to do the second half from home instead of her desk, if she had credentials for the company Intranet/VPN.

They were just skimming over Elliot's prison time this episode to remind viewers and reaffirm that Elliot was really in prison.
