BoJack Horseman 6x9 FULL REACTION

BoJack Horseman 6x9 FULL REACTION

I'm not saying it wasn't wrong of him to look at penny look that. Just saying that he knew why he was there and that even though nothing happened, he shouldn't have let her in. In regards to the cancel stuff, I meant it for adults as well. Like the stories you see in the past 2yrs of people losing their jobs or having to quit because someone found a post or tweet from them that was in the past that is a direct confliction with who they are now and then proceed to shame them and all that. My examples weren't exactly the best but all in all it just leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

Dune

There's a LOT of middle ground between sexually assaulting scores of women and tweeting something 'was retarded' back in high school lol. I mean, that's not even 'cancel culture' at all, the former being legally criminal offenses which they're serving actual time for (apparently except for Cosby now ugh) and the latter being tasteless things dumb kids said before times changed.

I mean....we know that Bojack tends to like girl that are way younger than him, and the relationship he had with women that were older (Wanda and PC for example) went to shit cuz he is childlish as hell. So no, he is not a pedo, but him seeing his past love in a young teen is wrong AF, whatever way you put it, in my opinion.

Gaïa New Gate

lol i think Cosby, Kevin Spacey and Harvey are on another level.

ReactorHero

I agree with you regarding past statements that end up getting someone cancelled, but what about people who have genuinely disturbing things come up? Like Cosby or Kevin Spacey and of course Harvey Weinstein.

The situation bojack put himself in with penny was not ok at all but yeah I wouldn't call him a pedo. He was in dark time and felt like the only good in his life was when him and charlotte used to date and so looking at penny i'm sure he saw charlotte instead of seeing her as penny and his longing to back to those times really fucked him over. Anyway he explains it though will sound like an excuse so it sucks for him but I'm sure he's learned. Also cancel culture is such a stupid thing in some regards. It's like do people not believe that other people can change? It annoys me that people act like they've always been about change and doing the right when a big majority of us have definitely said some questionable things in the past. It shouldn't define who we currently are.

Dune

Really sad to see Hollyhock and Bojack's relationship deteriorate. Its completely understandable given what Pete Repeat told her. I'm glad Bojack is listening and seems more stable and healthy

Purple Hearts

The accident was only possible because Bojack was keeping alcohol in violations of the rehab's policies

About the conversation after, I graduated HS in 2007. Superbad came out the same year about my graduating class and having watched it again recently for a movie night... it was pretty accurate. We certainly used plenty of 'colorful' language back in the day, it is very fortunate we didn't have twitter back then or probably 50-90% of us would be cancelled today. This isn't saying it was right then or right today, but when you're surrounded by stuff like that you pick it up. Again, at least its all off the record and in the distant past... unless someone decides to start scouring old myspace or xanga blogs lol

SantaClausJr

First two you're right but how tf is Doctor Champ Bojack's fault? He didn't give or do anything to him, and by complete accident he got that bottle that Bojack tried to throw away. He then, after Bojack helped him sober up, continued to screw himself up. In other words, Doctor Champ was an out-of-line dumbass for trying to guilt trip Bojack for that lol

SantaClausJr

Bojack hasn't only hurt women. He's hurt, at least: Herb Kazzaz, Todd, and Doctor Champ.

I'll miss these. It's been a really cathartic thing. With social media drama, I do my best to keep in mind that the reality is that people will forget or forgive anything within a couple months and the things being talked usually aren't worth getting riled up over. However, I am extremely tired of the hollow performative cleansing of reputation that people who have actually done shitty things are afforded. But I also feel like that is an out cropping of the hollow performative accusations that are thrown about. The actual bad stuff gets caught up in the show because of the whole faux-forgiveness redemption cycle that gets played out in media. Generally I think it's very important to be compassionate to people who have made mistakes while they're growing(every one has done it right?). But I would honestly probably act like Hollyhock. I can empathize with looking at a situation and being stuck on the dynamics of exploitation, even if it's sub-conscious or for survival on some level. I do find myself getting stuck on 'But you were willing to do that to another person' and sometimes I find it unforgivable, but I guess that's my luxury as an outside observer.
