I think this might be in My top 3 favorite episodes thinking about him supporting his friends even though he’s struggling not because he has to or feels guilty but because he realizes how much he cares about all of them and him cleaning dianes house made me 😭 like what an intimate thing to do for someone taking that burden away from her I love it

I think it's normal to have lesser friends as you get older. As you understand yourself more and more, you begin to tolerate less BS from people and protect your heart from things that can hurt it. So it carries more weight when you finally do find that group of people who really do love you for you. No matter how big or small. You won't have to worry if you'll lose them over some high school petty BS. If there's a problem, they'll go out of their way to work it out with you. You can say I love you, and they'll reciprocate your feelings without a second thought. Because you are worthy of being loved, and so are they. Sorry, that was a lot. But I felt like sharing that after your reaction. Good vibes.

Yeah I hate to say it, but PB honestly reminds me of those TikTokers that pretend to have mental illnesses just for the attention and sympathy. Kinda gross, and he’s even fooling some of the people watching (which may or may not be intended by the writers, it’s hard to say). But at least he’s bringing awareness, so there’s that I guess

"Looks like you found solace in our show. Stay if you like; in 30 minutes we start over." Hmmm I wonder if the writers are trying to tell us something with this line.

??

That painting of bojacks tho

PS: (My phone sucks for typing these) –for what it’s worth looking back seeing my mother prioritize her well-being and spiritual/mental health is something that I’ve only recently noticed the value of. It’s one of those things that was just what was happening at the time but in retrospect it was great leading/parenting: basically you guys sharing your self-work is really cool and filled with widespread positives.

All I'll say about meds, stay away from Effexor/Venlafaxine. Please. Its not worth the suffering it brings. The withdrawl is honestly worse than alcohol and coke withdrawl in my opinion. And you start symptoms even missing your dose after 20 minutes. Its a hit or miss if it helps you or not, but the withdrawl comes in both scenarios. Especially when you've been taking it for months or years and want to get off of it. It takes months of weening off the drug. I believe I took 4 months of having to take lower and lower dosage which sucked, and when I finally was off it I still felt the wothdrawl for a couple weeks. I'd argue that its the most hated drug amongst the depressed population. Any doctor who recommends or prescribed it WITHOUT TELLING YOU THIS sucks. Get a new doctor if they do not discuss side effects.

I hope you guys don't feel some kind of obligation to share these private things with us - though I don't think it's possible to discuss this show without getting personal, and as always your thoughts and insights are super appreciated. I totally get you about seeing yourself in this show to an uncanny degree. Unfortunately, I can be a bit of a Bojack (though obviously much less toxic... I hope!) But yeah, meds can be a hard process, and it's obviously not for everyone, but I gotta say, i take meds for both depression and ADHD and I'm so happy with both of them :) (though the, uh, "journey" of figuring out which meds were right for me was... interesting!)

Medication is great. I’ve got one of my friends living with me now, and he’s been struggling with depression for as long as I can remember really, but he’s really made some big changes with steady medication. It’s been cool to see.

Foaming Clean

i'm pretty sure Mr. Peanut Butter doesn't have depression, it's supposed to be kind of a joke, and the show juxtaposes him putting on an act for the public with Diane who's actually suffering with depression.

Francesca White

i’m so glad you talked about your experience with medication cuz i totally feel you! But I’ve been on medication for about a year now and it’s really working out. I hate the stigma around it cuz it made me suffer for so long when I shouldn’t have. Anyways this was actually so emotional to watch I love you guys for being so open!
