For right now I'm gonna show off the progress of my new model!!! I've been working on this on and off for over a year now, and it's been taking way too long due to school taking up a lot of time, so I'm really pushing myself lately to finish it. I feel like I can't do any of the other things I want to do before I finish this! I'm done with the modelling and UV mapping, and I'm close to being finished with the textures now. I've been trying to study some texturing methods, so it's been taking way longer than expected because of that :( I still have some stuff to do or try out, I want to focus on nailing highlights on the hair, add some stitches to the clothing, work on fold shadows and stuff on the jacket sleeves, add the bell's details and probably a lot more haha :D
OH and the thing on top of the head isn't colored yet! That thing is a new character that I've named "Swirl". Looks like whipped cream, is a weird spiral swirl thing from a place called "Swirld". We'll see how that lore unfolds lmao, you're the first to know about this!!
The photos show how the model looks with base color, but some photos are with more realistic lighting too because I'm texturing so it will fit both with base color and with PBR (Physical Based Rendering) textures! We'll see how it looks in the end, I'm probably also gonna add a shader that will give an outline like my current model, so it will look more cartoonish when it's all done! I added some emission lights in the eyes that I'm not sure I'll keep, but it's fun to experiment!!
Very scared to do the blendshapes for the face and the iphone tracking, but I'm also a little excited because it's so satisfying when it's done!! I hope I can do a better job this time, I think I've studied it enough to make it a lot better! If not I will study it more!!! One thing is certain, I'm a LOT more confident in 3D now than I was when making my last model.
I also think rigging the hair with all the sprinkles will be a huge challenge, but with my last project I posted on twitter, Meiru-03, I feel more confident with rigging! I'm gonna try my best! I'm also looking into adding physics to the clothes, which I didn't do last time. I think that would make a huge impact for the overall feel of the model.
When I'm done with the model, I'm planning on making a similar video that I made for Icebear earlier, a transform video with the old model to the new model! I've been getting better at using cameras in blender too, and I'm planning to do more projects with that in the future! I have two song projects up and running that I wanna create videos for with the new model, one might be an ORIGINAL SONG!?!?!? :OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO WHAT??? and the other one is a cover of one of my favorite songs!!! I kinda wanna make outfits for them.. but we'll see, I'm not in the position of adding more work to my work atm :( but.. it will happen if I REALLY want to.. and I might just really want to.....
There might be some changes to the model when I'm rigging it, like adjusting anatomy (I suspect the arms might be too short lol) and maaaaybe removing detail swirls in the bangs, but I think this will be the overall look of the model! This time I really want to focus more on creating outfits!!!!!!! I want a whole closet!!!!!! Let's see if I can do that..
In other updates (that will probably need their own posts lol) I mentioned the songs I'm working on, I think I wanna create separate posts for those when I get properly started! I also mentioned earlier, very briefly, that I made a cafe?!? That will still be worked on, and deserves its own post here!!! For right now there are just lots of furniture to show lol, I have to make a lot of ice cream too, so when I get around to make that I'll post more about it! I also really wanna make an apartment!! AND A KONBINI!!!!!! Cloud 9 will still be updated!!! The Icebell universe is slowly expanding! Icebear radio will also get an update hopefully soon! OH AND I GOT TRACKERS!! I tested them with taking lots of random dance requests on twitter, that was a lot of fun!! I'm wondering if you have any suggestions for dances?? Very excited to get this model up and running, and START MAKING STUFF!! I've been testing out Warudo lately, and it's been really cool! I feel like there is a lot of potential there!
Ookokok it's getting late and I'm gonna sleep, but I wanna say I really appreciate the people in here, and I get really happy when I see your comments about stuff. Sorry that you gotta get through a wall of text from me lol, but I have a lot on my heart!!!! I try to give lots of photos to make it better, but the patreon layout is kinda weird lol. Maybe I should start making fancy powerpoints for you instead, like a magazine with updates lol.

An Icebell work newsletter does sound cool! and if you don't really like it you can always go back to a wall of text <:3c The things that get my attention.. everything! like the fact you used "lol" quite a bit in the last three paragraphs, which I thought was kind of funny cause I tend to use "haha" a lot in my sentences if I don't pay attention 😅 I don't know who MEG is.. I googled it and I think I found it? is it the music video with the cats being held up by people wearing black haha BUT I will wait with great anticipation for THE FLOSS then.. I have to let you know, like amogus hunting. I spent years perfecting my flossing technique. I'll be judging harshly 🧐

Yeah still a lot to do, and I think the overall feel of the model will change a lot when the face gets some movement too, I want to add lots of cool faces and extra things! YEAH ORIGINAL SONG!!! It's inspired by shibuya kei, so it's very playful and fun! I'm really looking forward to that, I think we want to aim for finishing it in the summertime, since it's a fitting song for the summer! OHH YEAH Meiru is definitely a Radio Love Highway vibe, I didn't even think of that :O Speaking of powerpoint, I made a document for Meiru in a powerpoint style where I went through the process of making the character, I can post that here if you're interested! I could do something similar with posts here too, since the posting here is a little bit stale I think, just a wall of text. It would be more like a icebell work newsletter hahaha, I think that could be cool? I don't mind long comments at all!! I think it's so fun to read, and I feel it's very helpful to see what gets your attention in the post the most hehehe. I might be a busy ice cream, but I always have the time to read comments!!!!!!! even if it takes me some time to reply sometimes :D but I really appreciate it!! OH.. hmmm.. I really like doing the dance MEG does in her Precious music video, somehow that is one of my faves! HAHA THE FLOSS, I think that could be fun to do actually, I'm gonna look into this >:D

I'm really curious as to how that would turn out.. like the genre but when it comes to you I imagine something like Perfume for some reason arms being too short, that sounds a bit familiar hmmm 🤔 You really got a lot on your plate there Icebell. but I believe in you, so keep it up!
