Icebear Radio

HELLO it's been a little while!!!

I've been drowning in a lot of schoolwork lately, so I've been feeling very drained, but recently I've gotten a spark back! You've seen me post about the new Icebell before, and while that is still in the works (hopefully I can get it done within this year hhh) I thought about Icebear too.. If Icebell is getting renewed, Icebear should follow! SO! I sat down and created a whole new design for Icebear. I wanted Icebear to be more movable, because the old design is very.. round. I want a more "rascal" look, a look where Icebear looks a little bit quicker, a little bit more grown up! I feel I'm doing the same with my own look, so it's only natural that Icebear also grows up a bit! Now that Icebear isn't just a hat anymore I feel it's important to give Icebear freedom to move more.

One of the things that pushed me to do this was an idea I had about creating a youtube channel for shibuya-kei playlists! I've been thinking about this for a while, and I thought OH maybe I could pair this up with Icebear somehow?!? So now this channel is Icebear Radio! This little project is just a passion project where I can share the music I love in a cool setting. Youtube has this "claim" thing with music on the videos that gets posted, so it doesn't get taken down, but it adds advertisement on the video where the money goes to the creators of the music! The idea is that I can support the artists that way, and hopefully I can spread cool artists and music to people! It will be a non-profit project for me, just because I'm genuinely interested in the music.

Right now I'm working on the layout of things, and how everything will look. I'm trying to use After Effects again even if it hurts... I want a really COOL look on things, and I feel After Effects is the only way I can achieve that look. I've also made concept art and a 3D model for the new Icebear, so my plan is to put Icebear dancing on the side of the playlist in the video! I made a little mockup on it so you can see the idea! It's kind of designed to have in the background while working on things, and you can look at Icebear go whenever you want! I want to have a different dance for each song, so lucky me that I have mixamo that can help me with that hehehe. Maybe eventually, once I get my trackers, I can create dances of my own? I'm gonna look into it!

It's all still being worked on, I'm sitting in After Effects as I write this, but I've already made multiple different shibuya-kei playlists! Some with themes, and also even some electropop and other genres of music too! I'll probably focus on shibuya-kei the most, but I do want to do more genres... there is a lot of cool music that deserves more recognition. I'll try to post some Icebell progress once I have some more stuff to show! For now I'll leave you with this mysterious idea of a radio channel on youtube!!!!! I hope you will like it!!!
