Behind The Scenes of Pipo Pipo + Icebell model download!

HELLO!!

I've hit a roadblock once again with my new model, so I decided to get more knowledge by doing ANOTHER MODEL lol. I also really wanted to learn about Blender's animation system and cameras, and how scenes work and stuff like that, so I thought I could go through a "behind the scenes" of how I created the music video for my newest cover of Pipo Pipo!

With this one I was really inspired by the old videos used for DDR and stuff, as well as the "y2k" chibi look kinda? At the same time I tried to make it my own thing, so Pipobell was created! I found a picture on pinterest that I got some inspiration from for the model, so I tried so make something in the same vibe. I modelled this in Blender, and textured it with some stylized smart materials in Substance Painter! The design is heavily based on my new design hehehe.

I decided to rig the character very simple this time, so I let Mixamo do the work for me. Mixamo is a website that features many different 3D character animations, and it has this thing where it can create rigs for a humanoid looking model. It made the process of rigging very fast, but it can be unreliable at times because you don't know how it'll turn out with weightpaint influences! This is very technical talk I realize that lol, sorry about that! BUT! Like I said, Mixamo also has a lot of animations, which I used a lot for this video. You can actually test it out yourself! I attached the model I used in my video, an outlined version and a normal one, as well as the textures just in case. If you upload this into Mixamo you can see how the model moves to the animation of your choice! It's really fun! I wanted to use Mixamo instead of animating myself, because I just wanted to focus on learning the Blender stuff this time.

One specific video I was inspired by was the Orange Lounge MOBO MOGA MV, where they use chibi 3D models in a room. I wanted to try something like this, so I created a room in blender with a couch in the middle. The couch is actually the same white couch that I used in my first VRchat studio world! As I set up the scene and tested out some camera shots I got ideas of what kind of animations I wanted to do, so everything came to me very spontaneously. I could've created a story board or something like that, but I just winged it lol. It worked out alright I think!

This was my first time rendering in blender, but luckily it was pretty easy. Only thing I had to do was render lots of frames, usually like 200 per scene more or less, and put these into premiere pro. I put them into seperate folders so I could easily drag them all into the sequence at the same time, and nest them so they acted as one clip. There might be a better way of doing this, but this worked pretty well for me!

I also did all the text animations and the moving background animations in premiere pro as well! I feel I should've done it in After Effects but since I kind of hate After Effects, I went for the easy way of Premiere Pro this time :D I'll have to get back to After Effects some day, but this time wasn't the right time for that. :( I do think I got a decent enough result with Premiere Pro alone though, I tried to replicate the workflow used in After Effect by using Nesting as Comp, and using curves to animate with! More technical talk, but oh well :D

The result became very cool! I'm surprised it took as little time as it did, I speedran this process hahaha, but I feel I got lucky with ideas along the way. This video also has a very strong Icebell vibe, so maybe it was easier because of that... I hope you get to test out the model, it's a lot of fun to play around with! I also hope you liked it!!!!! This was my first Blender 3D MV, and it most likely won't be my last now that I know how that works. That was the idea behind this, test out making a music video, and then get knowledge enough to continue to build on and become STRONGER! As soon as my new model is done too I'll definitely do some more of this type of content!

Alright that's what I have for now, but if you have any questions like if there is anything you're curious about that I forgot to talk about, please don't be afraid to ask! Also for safety reasons I gotta write this: The models here are not allowed to be used for bad things, and is not allowed to be sold or distributed, they are for this patreon only!!! ok nice :D

PLS HAVE A GOOD NIGHT/DAY/TIME and I'll see you next time!!!!!

I made Pipobell do many things like jump and fall over and DIE HAHA. A dancing gif (gif not jif) would be cool! my knowledge of weird things directly fed to me by icebell ( Ν‘πŸ‘οΈβ€―ΝœΚ– Ν‘πŸ‘οΈ) I miss having free things from school... and I also used to find other means for products like photoshop πŸ‘€ ahhh I have tried using programs like Illustrator, which is mostly vectors right??, and I just had trouble adapting to it orz I'd always get the urge to just freehand sketch and draw things. It has been a long time at this point though. You definitely have a style! I've gone back over your older works before and I feel it in my soul... the icebellcore. I remember that I first found you with the sonic song Can You Feel the Sunshine. It was a rough time for me back then and I was thinking about quitting drawing but your work motivated me to keep going! I wonder what this style of mine is... I feel like I'm just always wandering with my art haha hmm I get what you mean by creative dump. a different perspective could definitely help. But I believe you'll prevail! Keep it up Icebell! I've had a feeling you've probably been busy so no worries on late response. I've gotten an e-mail that patreon will change things.. their new logo is kind of ugly already as it is 😒 what you suggested would be a nice update though. ASIDE from that more singing stuff?! even if the void swallows you your singing still reaches us.. how deep (also I saw your goodnight when it was night for me before but I was too tired to respond but I received it)

HEY BE NICE WITH PIPOBELL!!! Thank you btw!! Yeah I definitely lean into the icebellcore with this one, I wanna do it more though!! Ooo brains that go :D are some of my fave brains :D Hmm maybe I should make a pipobell dancing gif then? I mean if I continue with it you'll recognize it later on too, and you'll suddenly have a lot of weird knowledge!! When it comes to moodboards I usually make that for bigger projects, this one was just a practice run kind of, so I just rolled with it, but I had a strong sense of where I wanted to go with it based on the music video and the picture. Ahh Adobe, well... I get it for free through school atm, but I've also resulted to finding other ways to get it in the past 😳 The reason why I use it is because I learned these programs in school forever ago, and they're STILL being used at my school now... also, I use multiple of their programs, one of them is also for 3D texturing purposes, Substance Painter, which is a super nice program to have! Also I looove illustrator, and use it for a lot of projects, I think it also is one of the programs that has shaped my creative style kind of? I'M GLAD YOU SAY I HAVE A STYLE!! I want to develop it further! I noticed you have one as well, and I really like it! It's not so much getting the muscles at this point really, it's more of a creative dump kind of? There is something about my model that feels off, and it puts me off of working on it.. so I take a little breather before I continue to be able to see the model with a fresh perspective again. Yeah you remembered, the face! It might be that, but it might also be the fact that it needs textures to shine properly... I also have some school assignments that I gotta take care of :O as well as some singing stuff hehehe. Honestly I wish I could write things as a document and add pictures between the text here, I think it would be easier to follow along the text that way! Unidentifiable humanoid is running from the void :D it was futile, it got swallowed whole... but at least pipobell survived! Sorry for my late answer btw, but GOOD NIGHT BACK!!πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰

Muahaha! I finally have access to an Icebell model for all my nefarious plans!! But this was really well done!! I definitely felt the Icebellcore from this. It made my brain go :D Pipobell is so cute too! I want her to be dancing on my screen all the time! haha technical talk is ok! You do a good job of explaining your process and ideas. hmu hmu weightpaint influences, naruhodo (he does not) Looking at your influences you really stuck to it quite well! Do you ever build something like a moodboard or just have a bunch of things you reference in a folder or something to stay to a certain aesthetic sometimes or? I wondered how you did some of your things and it always comes down to Adobe products... Do you feel the price is worth it? For just winging it, you did a really good job. You certainly have a specific style that you kind of naturally give off with your works. Cool Ice cream vibes 😎 I hope you're able to learn what you need to get bigger 3d model building muscles to tackle your new icebell model! It's a good design so I can't wait to see it finished! I think you said you were struggling with the face last time? Also I wish Patreon would let me like individual photos or comment on them individually haha Unidentifiable humanoid running, but what are they running from.. GOOD NIGHT Icebell!
