The Legend of Korra 4x13 - "The Last Stand" SERIES FINALE REACTION

The Legend of Korra 4x13 - "The Last Stand" SERIES FINALE REACTION

Comments

@Imon_Snow I'VE said this before but whatever I've been a fan of Avatar sense day one< avatar the last airbender came out when I was 5 I remember watching all the way through it ended in 2008 when I was 8!!!! The legend of korra came out when I was 12 and ended in 2014 when I was 14!!!!! Its still one of my favorite series ever and seeing it get more attention makes me happy but, this episode is still very beautiful and sad the part when Korra and Kuvira are in the spirit world and Korra is highlighted blue because she represents the light and Kuvira is purple because she represents the darkness is always amazing symbolism!!! I think Kuvira is up there in villains for Korra. Now that wedding between Varrick and Julee is still one of the best things to see. Every time I see the moment with Tenzin talking to Korra I get emotional but every time I see the moment with Korra and Asami walking into the spirit world holding hands looking at each other with that sad but peaceful soundtrack playing in the background that shit straight up makes me cry I'm not gonna lie lmfao!!!!! If you paid attention closely they actually hint at their relationship throughout season 3 as well!!! And it is insane that this happened on pride month, I ship Korra and Asami all the way til this day!!!! Asami was looking like a snack too lol but Korra had some ups and downs but it was still a great one!!!!

l'm pretty sure that's actually what they have planned but don't take this as 100% fact just rumors and speculation

the problem was that despite the creators wanting to do more, nick, didn't let them do anything more explicit than what is in the show. It's hard to believe but 7 or so years ago was quite a bit of time for lgbt+ people. Gay marriage wasn't legal in the entire US, there were no other shows for kids that could do more on TV, now you can see it through streaming and some on cable, but there's still not much. Legend of Korra is a very much the story that walked so others could run, and luckily they were able to continue in the comics where Korra and Asami were able to be shown in a happy and healthy relationship.

bloodyshadow1

the comics are SO good as a person who is not really into comics i loved the avatar ones and the korra ones! i loved them so much i wouldn't be mad if they just animate the comics for the new content!

shout out to Eric

“God bless him and his bear”😂. I don’t know why that made me laugh. And the graphic novels take place straight after the show, so you should definitely read them if you’re looking for more Korrasami.

Morgan Le Fay

I mean the lack of an answer essentially means Izumi is Zuko and Mai's daughter as Avatar ended with them together. Unless otherwise stated, that's the assumption that should be made. As for the chi-blocking. There is absolutely no reason for any of them to be related to Ty-Lee. It's simply plausible that, like Toph, she taught her skill to others and it continued to be taught.

Tim Ott

Korra was the first non-heterosexual protagonist in western children's animation. The creators wanted them to kiss but back then Nickelodeon wasn't ready to show this. Nevertheless, Korra and Asami paved the way for future LGBT+ representation in children's media.

Ruma Risto

Pitty its over.. but got a complete new one ladies. On April 12 "To Your Eternity" came out. Upcoming monday episode 6 should be out.. do you going to react to that anime. Imon/Abby. Greetings Raymond.

R.BGames37

Lol if you want fanart, you're in for a treat. There's an entire subreddit r/korrasami dedicated to fanart/fanfiction of them, and it's ridiculously active for a show that ended 7 years ago hahah.

Kc

It was great to watch y’all react to this show. It is so special, and I’m glad y’all enjoyed it.

Zonum

Sad to see it go but hey, here's to hoping they watch That time I got reincarnated as a Slime

colbyswan

Korrasami for the win!!! Thank you guys so much for these reactions! I had a lot of fun and loved rewatching this with y'all. :)

Shark-ira

Avatar studios will be done by the same people but not on Netflix but on paramount +

Kaea Edwin

there is korra comics! in the first series it explores korra and asami's relationship - and in the second one it shows the kuvira backstory we were supposed to get in the original series, but also the resolution of the earth kingdom (wu's plan included)

Anonbot

I am a huge fan of this show! There are still questions that were never answered (not even in the comic books, as far as I know). Was Firelord Izumi the daughter of Mai and Zuko? I am almost 100% sure that Mai is the mother, but they don't clear it up. The mustache chi-blocker from season 1: is he related to Ty-Lee? She was the only person who could chi-block on that level. I feel like Ty-Lee has to be his grandmother. Or maybe he was the grandson of Sokka and Suki?? But then Tenzin, Katara, Boomi, Kaia and all of the OG's would have known who he is. Give us some answers Avatar creators!

What a journey

I love LoK, the production issues sucked but i think a great show still came out in the end.

Alan

I CAN FINALLY SAY IT KORRA IS GAYYYYY AH AH been holding that in for the entire series, her and Asami have always been my OTP

Faiz Khan

Nick did this series so fucking dirty honestly. And to this day i don't get why. Acting as if ATLA wasn't one of their main shows for many years, the disrespect to the creators ffs. Idiots. So glad we have Avatar Studios where now they can hopefully do shit without out of touch higher ups interfering.

Shockzz1234

Thank you guys for your the love and respect you afforded both AtLA and LoK. Really love your reactions and hope to see more in the near future. I think you will love The Dragon Prince and Castlevania. They are both dorky and fun. Castlevania does have its darker moments though. I also highly recommend Fate/stay night: Unlimited Blade Works. l like to think of it as the reward for pushing through all the darkness of Fate/Zero. If they make more Avatar stories, I personally prefer stories of the every day bender over another Avatar series unless it's a continuation of Korra or Aang. Prequels tend to be more prone to creating plot holes than sequels so I would prefer a continuation of Korra instead of Aang. There's a simple reason why I don't want more Avatar stories. Unless they die young, and I don't want that for Korra, Avatars can live a long life. A third Avatar story would likely take place in something closer to modern times. That is unless there is a significant timeskip that jumps over Modern times, Apocalyptic times, and a resurgence in human civilization. I just don't want a setting where Benders begin to lose their relevance with technological progress and in ATLA, the seeds of technological innovation had already been set. In LoK that seed sprouted and there's nothing short of an Apocalypse that will stop it. A post-apocalyptic Avatar story might be interesting though.

I’m so sad it’s over 😭 but lucky for us there actually are canon comics that take place after both shows! The Legend of Korra “Turf Wars” comics takes place right after the show ends with Korra and Asami in the spirit world!

jmv213

I love the reaction and i’m so glad you guys liked it! I’m a die hardddd korrasami shipper so i’m super happy you guys like them together too. there are two comics that came out for korra and they both have three parts. the first comic is turf wars and the second is ruins of the empire. korrasami was deeply explored in both comics and you do get to see their adventures in the spirit world:). also, the voice actors from korra teamed up with dark horse comics and they did a live reading of the comics of youtube and they made them love and added music so it’s as show like as possible! here’s the link in case you guys would like to see it:) https://youtu.be/6LMj8-IDBhE

Ella

It was the whole season, not even the last 5 or 6

I don't blame Nick for being against Korra and Asami. I blame them for barely giving any support to one of their best shows. They treated LoK like they were embarassed by it or something. I just don't get why.

Adam Vialpando

I like where they went with Kuvira. In a way she was putting into action what she was taught. I love Su but I don't necessarily agree with her decision not to help stabilize the Earth Kingdom. I understand where she was coming from and that she didn't want to oppress her ideals onto others. But she failed to grasp that a leader for the people would appear no matter what. Honestly, it kind of reminds me of Zaheer. They believe in freedom for people to choose their lives but forget that people need leadership in order to thrive. Su was looking at it too black and white, either be a dictator or do absolutely nothing. But there were other ways she could have helped. Su had the power to help yet chose not to. Even if Kuvira never came to power either someone else would have or the Earth Kingdom would have become a battleground for bandits and warlords. And the common people would be caught in the middle with nobody to protect them.

Adam Vialpando

Before everyone starts blaming Nickelodeon (who did their share of damaging the plot of this show, particularly in the first 2 books), they were in no way against Korra and Asami getting together. The creators even stated that they didn't bring it up until they were writing the finale episode because they thought Nickelodeon would never agree to it. Nickelodeon did put the stipulation of no kiss and while that does suck, it was 2014, before gay marriage was even legal in all states. There was no other American animated show that had a queer lead character. This was a monumental step for it's time and a lot of queer content creators today specifically point to LoK as being the series to open the door for more accepting content. They have comics (that are endorsed by Nickelodeon) that explore the relationship between Korra and Asami, taking off from where the show ends, in the spirit world. Thank you so much for reacting to this show.

Haughtbreaker Nic

I love Korrasami. I always felt they had great chemistry together. Even back in Book 1 when Korra was purposefully trying to dislike Asami she couldn't help but be friends. And I loved how close they got in Book 3 and the beginnings of what would become deeper feelings. I do think them getting together at the end of Book 4 was a little too soon, given that there wasn't much time to explore their relationship more, but it really wasn't the fault of the showrunners. With the lack of support from Nick they probably decided to focus on more of the personal issues of the characters. Like Korra and her feelings of powerlessness, Asami and her father, Bolin and his desire to do good, and Mako....being present. It must have been hard to do all that and romance too. And given how terrible the romances were in Books 1 & 2 they probably overcompensated a bit in the other direction. I think Turf Wars would have been the best place for Korrasami to debut. But given comics weren't guaranteed to happen or people weren't guaranteed to read them I don't mind them making it official in the finale. Plus those two are friggin adorable together.

Adam Vialpando

Yes I do believe that they did something like that

JeremCo

Not only pushed back but last 4-6 episodes were available only on their website and never actually aired from what i remember

Daas Nahk

What a lovely journey! From ATLA to where we are now, it was such a wild ride and I’ve loved getting to experience these excellent shows with you all. Also, have they covered The Haunting of Hill House on the channel yet? Cause that would be a beautiful show to see them react to. It would be fun to have something spooky in the lineup (Only one season too, so not too much of a stand in which is nice lol)

Mitsy

KorrAsamy was meant to be explored more in the show but Nikelodeon pushed back, so the only thing the creators could do is hinting at it in the last scene...

JeremCo

so sad that this is the end :( thank u both so much for reacting to both ATLA and LoK. these shows mean a lot to me. what a journey!!!!

botchie

So is Korra now replaced with one of the 2 Patreon requests (Erased/Kaguya sama: Love is war)? If so, that would be nice

Farshat Khalegjar

Korra & Last Kingdom Thursday be the best days 😏
