The Blocking of Cloud 9 + Icebell Reference Art

I've been working hard on my exam project lately, there is A LOT of work to do, and I've only just begun!!! Last post was all about the new Icebell design, while this time I'm gonna talk more about the city, more specifically "The Virtual City of Cloud 9"! Cloud 9 is the casual name of the city, but the project name is "The Virtual City of Cloud 9". This is Icebell's city!
The city is very inspired by retrofuturism and solar punk, and is set on a huge cloud, that's why it's called Cloud 9! 9 also happens to be my favorite number, so it was a really good match :D
My main focus while creating this city is to create a detailed and optimized city in VR in the most effective way. It's gonna be A LOT of work, and A LOT of modelling, but I'm here for the challenge! The idea is that people can use the city for recording things, taking photos, or even hosting events!
I've done the blocking of the city, which is when you create a barebone version of something with just simple shapes to see how it all looks together. It really helped me wrap my head around creating a whole city lol. I added a few pictures of the blocking both in blender and in unity!
The original idea was to create multiple shops within the city and areas to discover, each with their own themes, but my main focus is first to complete the city. I have to see what I'll have time to do. This project lasts until 2nd of june, and time flies by so fast, but I can work on the city after my exam as well, and expand the city! Later on I'd really like to add Ice Channel 9 to this world as well!!!!!
I also finalized my reference art to the new Icebell design! Now I have 3 angles to use when I create the new 3D model, and it'll make things a lot easier! Ahhhh I can't wait!!!! I wanna make really cool faces and stuff!!!!
Ok I think that's it for now, I have a lot of documents to write for this assignment, and a lot of planning to do. It's so refreshing to just jump in here and write more casually, so thanks for reading my project ramblings as always<3

2023-03-20 18:12:59 +0000 UTCThere's a number (hehe) of reasons really, 9 is Cirno's number, which is my favorite touhou character, the letter i is the 9th letter in the alphabet, if you say it in japanese I think it's the cutest sounding number, it's the last single digit number which I think is cool, and if you turn it on the side it's a smiling mouth with a tongue sticking out!! I think there's more reasons too, but I just really like the number 9 lol Yesyes finalized!!!! I think!!! I might do changes once I start modeling, but we'll see! Yeah it has, I'm really surprised, and a little bit sad it's gone by so fast, but I've learned so much the last two years that I'm really glad I got the chance to learn!
