im glad you guys enjoyed f/z even with its dark tones, but i promise you fate/stay night is not dark, its actually very shounen and exciting! i hope you guys check it out. Of all the fate series, zero is the most dark in terms of storyline, so after this if you guys plan to watch any other fate, then you don't have to expect this depressing vibe. Also, you guys mentioned wanting to go more into the history of servants, so if your guys finish fate stay night, unlimited blade works and heavens feel, I greatly recommend checking out fate/grand order: babylonia! it is very fun and lighthearted with an adventure vibe, so it wont make you feel this way for sure! thank you for your reaction to this i had an amazing time with you guys! wishing for you guys to watch more of the fate series

I believe the destruction that happened / kotomine's revival and gilgamesh living is because he technically won the Holy Grail War the minute Kiritsugu renounced it. It sort of talks about this moment in Heaven's Feel, but yeah the official winner of this war was Kotomine. Very dark but UBW is pretty not dark for the most part good juxtaposition. Appreciated watching this show with you guys look forward to an eventual UBW.

It’s also due a lot to Gen Urobuchi who wrote the light novel on which the series is based! His work, including Madoka Magica and Psycho Pass, has a reputation of having dark and brutal stories and earned him the nickname “Urobutcher”.

Fate/stay Night/UBW is going to be much more lighter in tone compared to Zero. Zero is much darker in tone because a lot of the storyline is directly told as a setup for what happens in Fate/Stay Night/UBW, so much of the themes can't be completed in this series because it'll be addressed in Fate/Stay Night. Without giving up too much story spoilers, Saber's Arc to redemption for her people/Army, Sakura being saved from the Matous, Kiritsugu's path to peace/being a hero, and Justice/karma to Kirei n' Gilgamesh ARE ALL storylines that get addressed in the different paths in Fate/Stay Night(UBW, and Heaven's Feel) I hope you guys will read this and consider checking out the rest...This is truly only the beginning/prologue to the whole series TBH...I can't wait to have you guys REACT to the rest~! A big reason Fate/Zero is so dark is because it's a prequel. A lot of series go through super dark patches, but their not as distinctly dark because for the most part those things get resolved, or paved over by happier moments in the approach to the ending. I'd seriously suggest watching UBW, if only because I think it'll make you enjoy and understand Fate/Zero a little better.
