New design?!??

HELLO

I've started school again, and been surprisingly busy with that in the last couple of weeks. I try my very best at absorbing everything I can as long as I'm able to, and learn as much as I can! My absolute end goal is to be able to get a job in the game industry after school. 

I only have one semester left of school to go, and we're already planning for the big final exam project. For me I really want to create something related to what I started school for, which is VR tech and Vtuber tech related. That's why I want to create a new Icebell model, and Icebell's city! This new Icebell design will replace the current design, and I'm gonna create a new updated and optimized model!!! Kind of sad to retire the Icebell I've had since the beginning, but I feel ready to level up, and with that I feel I have to change up my design a bit!

Now, this is A LOT of work, and I've already started planning both! My first design draft was a chibi, where I looked at my logo and the elements I put into it because I really like it! I've just now started creating the reference sheet, and experimenting with shapes and colors and the lineart omg drawing is hard (but very rewarding when it works out!!!!)

Let me talk about the design!!!!! This is going to take a while lol.
Ok so the hair is still the same hair, but it's more FUN and EXTRA. The sauce is now just overflowing, and not squiggly anymore, and the vanilla side now has ramune swirls?! I've also added cube sprinkles, because I liked the different shapes! The sprinkles are bigger, and the konpeito is gone.. for now. Their shape was too different, so I removed them. The stars are still there, and all yellow sprinkles have been changed out with white because it has a better balance. I ALSO HAVE A NEW FRIEND. Not sure what they're called yet, but they're shaped like a whipped cream cloud of some sort. Maybe we can call them Whip? The ahoge is also more thick now, and the bottom of the swirls are also more thick, kinda resembles stylized clouds! I also have the note cookie, pocky and a new swirly stick thing, and the bear bell that has yet to be activated.

Ok so Icebear hat is gone because I feel Icebear is their own entity now. Icebear graduated hat duty! I do have a new friend up there now, but icebear is most important. There is a new headset now instead! This is a wing headset, you can't see it properly yet because I haven't drawn the side reference yet, but yeah it's wing shaped on the sides, and has a blue band!

So the clothes are also very different, the classic checker jacket is now gone, and replaced with a hoodie! It's inspired by those colorblock sweaters, so one arm is green, and one is white, while the base is pink! Originally I wanted the hood to be Icebear, but I'm not 100% sure about it, we'll see what happens! There is also some stripes and an arrow!!! The arrow is a reference to the arrow in my logo, which is a nod to rhythm games. The sleeves of the jacket are oversized, so you wont be able to see the hands when its on, but I designed the jacket and dress so you could take off the jacket if you ever need to throw hands!!!!! OH and the zipper has a huge gold star! The dress underneath is inspired by 60s mod dresses, half blue (Icebell's main color) and half of the checker design (Icebell's pattern)! It also has a trim at the bottom that resembles a cloud, and a turtleneck.. ish? I wanted it to feel kind of futuristic in a way.

One of the socks stayed, the green one, but it switched side! And there is a new sock, a pink striped one! There is also a new pair of boots, white boots with blue details, and floating wings on the side! I really wanted to lean more into the cloud and wing theme this time, a cloud is a good place for an ice cream to be after all, it's very cool and chill!

I think that was all of the design??? At least for now! For the city.. I've made like.. almost 20 different moodboards lol, for architecture, city layout, and lots of different stores and their themes. I want to make the city so I can use it to create videos, and I want vtubers to be able to use it too if they want, so it'll be uploaded to VRchat! There are a LOT of assets to create thought, so we'll see how that'll work in the end, but Icebell is my main priority! I think I might make a new icebear too to match!

Now you know what I'm up to, and why I might be a little quiet, but I'm gonna try my best to upload updates here, and try to create some videos for twitter, but I'll probably pour a lot of my energy into this! It's also super weird to think about the icebell model that I have now was published only 6 months ago.. and I'm already planning a new one!!! I'm glad I got to create the original icebell design first though, it will always be special to me<3
