Absolutely. He gave the shield up thinking it would go to an exhibit honoring his friend, a few days later the same dude he gave the shield to on tv says that American needs a man/symbol that can give them hope/unite them and they parade out some guy he never even heard about with the shield and a brand new suit. Even if he thought that he’s not the man worthy to take over Steve’s legacy before that hurt, you can see it in his reaction they betrayed him and there’s definitely people that will have “problems” with a black Captain American.

I like that Sam didn't open up to Bucky the same way Bucky did to Sam. Guys can be very hard-headed about keeping their emotions to themselves, and I think Bucky would've never opened up if it weren't for his sessions with the therapist lady. With Bucky he has at the very least been shown to recognise his faults and issues and work from there, but Sam starts the session talking about how he's 100% fine.
Honestly its a very realistic portrayal of how men tend to be when they're put in situations where they are required to be truthful with one another. As a guy myself I've found myself in both ends of a failed heart-to-heart, and I totally get the frustration of both sides.

Also, to talk about John Walker compared to Steve Rogers, John is exactly what they originally wanted for the super solider, a physical speciman that was a highly trained solider off the charts. But he doesn't seem to have to heart that Steve had, and that was the most important part. You wanted to trust Steve, John feels too entitled to be followed because of the title he was given, he didn't earn it

I love this reaction on so many levels. I think that Sam logically doesn't think that the he isn't worthy of wearing that shield, cause America on so many levels doesn't respect a Black person in a position of authority. He doesn't see himself as equal to what Steve was, cause those are massive shoes to fill, to be that guy that shoulders all of America's hope.
Also, if Sam goes and gets Wakanda tech, do we now have to call him Black Falcon? lol

I also think Sam has an issue with what the shield represents. It represents an America he may not feel ever wanted him or even exists. Isaiah is proof of that. Here was a man who took up the mantle when Steve was gone and America rejected him. I think Sam doesn’t want to run around with the flag of a country that doesn’t respect him as a person. I may be reading into it though.

So in the comics, Cap didn’t age as long as the serum was in his bloodstream. In the MCU films cap aged regardless, the serum didn’t keep him young.

lol why do people think CA never used guns? Like yeah he prefers to use his shield, but he's a soldier, he uses guns when he needs too lol

When Walker throws the shield, he’s not throwing it as hard as Cap, that’s one of the reasons Bucky could catch it with his flesh hand instead of using his metal arm like he had to do in Winter Soldier. Practicing throwing probably helped Walker predict angles of return a bit better than the average person too. Great reaction as always!
