NEW COVER(S?!) WIP POST!!!

HELLO!

I've been working on 3!!!!!!!!! covers these last couple of days, because I wanted to focus om making covers this month, but I think I've been a bit burned out lately, so I've been working slowly. I finally got to record some stuff! The covers I'm doing are Poppin Candy Fever, Pon de Beach from idolm@ster, and the one I've talked about forever, LUVORATORYYYYYYYYY AHHHHHHHHHH

Ok so first up is Poppin Candy Fever by Kinoshita!!!! This is a vocaloid song done by Kagamine Rin and Otomachi Una. I really wanted to do a super high energy song, and I thought this one was absolutely perfect, PLUS in the original art they hold ice cream!!! I'm ice cream!!! It was meant to be. I was thinking I could do a 3D video for this song, but then I decided to LEARN HOW TO DRAW INSTEAD LOL. I seem to always choose the painful route. I started watching lots of tutorials on how to do lineart, and how to color, especially Saito Naoki's videos! I actually learned a few things, and I tried using that, and also looking at how others use colors in their art. The result you can see above, first picture!
I feel like I'm not quite there yet, but I do feel this is a huge improvement! I used my 3D model as a base, posed it the way I wanted, and drew over it, that way I got the anatomy correct. I wanted it to be SUPER colorful and sweet looking, so I went absolutely wild with the colors in shadows and highlights! In the original video there is actually two poses, but I think I'm gonna draw icebear in the other pose (less work hehe), and mayyyybe do a few chibis? I wanna get this cover out asap though, since I'll be travelling in the end of july, beginning of august.
I've barely started on the video, but I'm gonna work on it today! The song is almost done with mixing, I just wanna fine tune it so it sounds suuuper polished and niceeeeee.

Second cover is Pon de Beach! This is a song by one of my fave girls in idolm@ster, Ganaha Hibiki! This was actually started last summer, but then time happened, and I felt it was too late to post it since summer passed by, so I decided to wait until next summer, which is now! I've had the beginning of the vocals ready for a year, but I had to record the last part now, so I kinda hope you can't tell the difference hhhh. For this one I thought I could do a 3D video, but with a new summer outfit! I did a poll on twitter asking what people wanted to see in terms of a summer outfit, and people voted for a summer dress..  soooo... I barely started making a summer dress! You can see a little progress photo of it, but it's VERY in progress still. I'm thinking a cute lil dress, a t-shirt under, and a fun hairstyle! And instead of a hat, I'm doing an icebear hairclip, the same as in the adventure kit I made maybe? I think it could be very cute!

The last one I've talked about before, it's the LUVORATORY cover. I feel any video I gotta do complex after effects stuff with gets postponed for a long time because I just can't get along with after effects!!!! I do still try though, because it's such a powerful tool. I've shown the main art before, but I made the chibis from the video in a Norr and Icebell design, and I'm trying to animate them with the puppet tool in after effects. It's tedious work. I also found a cool retro opening screen animation (you can see a screenshot from it over here)! For this one I'm just gonna float on a bunch of cool presets and try my best to replicate the original video into something that feels the same, which is easier said than done! I'm gonna try my best though, but I put this last because I know it will take some time to do this..

The reason why I do everything myself is pretty much because I'm a poor student atm, and I can't afford to do commissions.. but I also enjoy learning everything, so I don't really mind that. I just take a bit longer because I do everything myself! I think it would be a lot easier on my workflow if I did commission some of the work, so I'm gonna try that as soon as I'm able to, that way I can post more frequently!
