I feel like I'll have more to say after next episode so I'll save it other than to say I don't think he meant a romantic love when he told Sarah Lynn he loved her. I have always seen that as a platonic love. But obviously with the history of them I can see how that isn't obvious, and maybe I'm wrong but it's just my read of it.

Seeing that she had that potential and yet she was doing drugs in a motel room must have really made it sink in how low she had fallen

She talks about how the kid's dad should've used "parallel joints to support the foundation" when they run over the playhouse, etc. Love how subtle this show is, where something you think is a throwaway gag actually spins into an impactful (and emotional) plot point later.

Bojack seems unable to avoid his trauma and guilt anymore even when on a bender. Sarah Lynn's breakdown at the end was really sad. She had a Bojack like moment when she won the Oscar and then realized it meant nothing to her and didn't bring her happiness despite all she sacrificed to get to that moment. Exactly what Diane said would happen to Bojack if he won an Oscar. She talked about how child acting should be child labor and that she was 3 and didn't know what she was signing up for. She also showed an interest in architecture and wondered if its too late for her to go to college. She could've had a completely different normal and healthier life if she didn't get set down this road in Hollywoo.
