PC is like bojack's backup plan to an extent. He knows he can always call on her and she will most likely always help because she's a carer. It's what she's done since childhood and even though bojack is a shitty person she still has some love for him. Don't know why but that's a toxic relationship for ya.

On a surface level Bojack is determined to fire Princess Caroline because she screwed up him being in Kelsey's movie, helping her; building a friendship; and repaying her for accidently getting her fired from Secretariat. He is the one who initially screwed up with Kelsey but now that PC did he is ready to cut her lose right when she needs him most after helping him for years. Bojack comes off as an unfair asshole in this case.
On a deeper level though this episode was about finally cutting ties with a toxic relationship. PC didn't want to give it up because of all the time and effort she already invested into him which is a real perspective people have that keeps them stuck to something that isn't healthy for them. She also point out that they have fought like this before and ended up back together and expected the cycle to continue.
They agreed to still be friends and that they love each other as people but still Bojack managed to stay firm and fire her by the end. I agree that right now it sucks for PC to lose her biggest client when her company needs him but in the end moving forward would be best for her. Great discussion as always. Thanks for opening up to us about your own similar experiences with unhealthy connections.

What a nice discussion you both had at the end there. I was wondering where you would go with that because this episode is a bit of a roller coaster emotionally.
