Mamiko Noto has such a great voice. Anyway, this is very reminiscent of Evangelion’s ‘congratulations’ scene.

They might go back to them later in the anime, but who knows. As for whether the witches are good or not, they do all have their good intentions but their thinking is warped in one way or the other which lead them to cause tragedies when they were alive.

2021-01-12 19:28:11 +0000 UTCI think all the witches have good intentions but their deeds have twisted thinking. Like giving the world the whale and rabbits as a source of food but those things ultimately being dangerous because they're alive and need to protect themselves from death too. Giving Subaru the ability to come back to life and alter events to his favor is actually quite the gift - it does come with the nasty fact that he has to die first.
