Exactly I will never understand how people see him as a bad father just because he had a deeper connection with the only other person that had the same powers and would keep his culture alive.

Plus when you think about who he was as a child it would make sense that he would focus on spending time with tenzin as airbenders. Kya as a water bender had the norther and southern tribe she could visit to train or just spend time with other water benders. Bumi was a wild child and just did whatever, but tenzin only had aang as the only other airbender and vice versa. It's that thing where you spend more time with the child that needs it and less time with the kids who don't.

2020-12-19 06:34:26 +0000 UTCIt was such a weird complaint, because Aang as a character was NEVER portrayed as perfect. (Nor Sokka, Toph, Katara, etc...). That fans have these weird preconceived notions of these characters being perfect is a testament to how much those same fans don't really understand the series like they claim to.
