I just started watching AOT this last week and I've always liked watching y'all on YouTube, so I'll watch a few episodes, then come and watch your reactions so it's like I'm watching with friends hahaha. I'm also going to start reading the manga so it really sucks you were given a huge spoiler!! I have been steering clear of comment sections and tags on social media like the plague; luckily Patreon comments are a little more civilized than YT.

2021-03-17 01:38:24 +0000 UTCThe funny thing about that scene with Reiner at the dinner table is that when his family asks him what the island is like they're expecting to hear horror stories of these terrible people and the atrocities they've committed to which Reiner responds with a funny, harmless story about a girl stealing a potato and then sharing half of it whilst listing basic personality traits about some of the people there like forgetting why they went to the bathroom, caring about other people, etc. It's all BS, he knows it's BS but sells it as if he's being serious. The last expression he makes before saying that being there was true hell was amazing. The shocked face of his mother shows him that he was being a lot more open and honest about his experience there then he was intending so he quickly stops talking. After all if word got out that he was talking positively about the "Devils of Paradis" things probably wouldn't end well for him and his family. He totally realizes how absurd his words are and I love it. Probably my favourite scene from this episode.
