Was season 1 of Korra a result of Aang’s mistakes? Could it have been avoided if Aang had executed Yakon rather than just take his bending?

2020-12-13 23:12:20 +0000 UTCAang did indeed do a pretty bang-up job as a 12-year old. Though I do think Aang's situation was a pretty simple good vs evil situation. From the very beginning it was obvious that beating the Fire Lord and stopping the Fire Nation was the right path and he stuck on that path for three seasons. Korra's predicaments are more tricky and have less obvious solutions, so I give her more leeway. Aang did mess up in the smaller stories, but the fallout was usually so minimal that they don't compare to the mistakes Korra makes with the main plot.

He was this god-like savior. Korra is more like a regular and relatable teenager much like Zuko was in ATLA.
