Fun fact is that Asser (king Peredur's monk ) was actually a real welsh monk who wrote the biography about Alfred called Life of King Alfred

Cation

Leofric did ask nicely to kill him lol

Its a great day for tank tops I see 😊, but to be serious the penultimate episode and the finale are gonna be great.. the fact they put so much in these 56 minute episodes i never realized how long they are cause 8m interested always

Peredur's kingdom looked so different because they were Britons the Celtic people that originally lived in the UK. They hired the Saxons as mercenaries about 400 years before the Last Kingdom and ended up conquering the Britons and pushing them to the corners of the kingdom so they have a different language and culture then both Saxon and Danes

Also the episode ends with Uhtred being blamed for Skorpa's rampage. Thus the sentence is death, but it gets to be decided by old Trial by Combat, Uhtred vs Leofric. Who will win? that's the question. Thanks for the reaction ladies and take care, peace.

The show is very good at depicting England during this time not a unified kingdom but petty kingdoms warring with each other and the occupation of their lands by the Danes. The Britons were one of few pagan peoples left in Britain, aside from the Scots. Iseult & Scorpa, both interesting characters looking forward to see what you guys think by season's end.

Poor Mildrith, she's a kind person but trying to change Uhtred is folly, far too set in his ways. Though she is right about him abandoning his family to raid and come back with a pagan queen by his side. Uhtred is far too stubborn and prideful witch gets him into more trouble when some humility would go a long way.

The English at this time were all about being humble, chaste and pious, at least they presented themselves as such. They were as vain and greedy as the Danes, but they used God as excuse while the Danes are more mercurial, their gods aren't as strict as the Christians.

Jamie Rees

Christianity was pretty hardcore back in the early middle ages. Especially during the time of the Danelaw, the Saxons were fighting against people they saw as godless heathens sent by hell to destroy them. Though they still have all the hypocrisy and sanctimony Christianity has now.
