Bojack Horseman 2x4 Full REACTION!!

Bojack Horseman 2x4 Full REACTION!!

Might be a strange take on the episode but to me, it shows how co-dependency can negatively function in a relationship. Where you have the two relationships with Bojack and Wanda, and Diane and Mr. Peanutbutter. Bojack and Diane are both in that area where they are battling against who they actually are to try and hold on to/enforce this ideal of themselves that they haven't attained and want to jam this ideal into reality. So you have Wanda, who is secure and knows herself. She thus far has not taken any of Bojack's bullshit personally and through this is able to actually comfort and be direct with Bojack when he is self-sabotaging. She absolutely refuses to hurt herself for him. And then you have Mr. Peanutbutter where he is confident yes, but as soon as Diane throws her feelings at him, it hurts him and they get distracted by that and he kind of becomes the focus of the argument instead of them focusing on Diane and why she feels this way. It takes them a long time to circle back around to and discuss Diane's deep unhappiness and lack of fulfillment. I sort of see it as Diane doesn't know who she is, so she really needs Mr. Peanutbutter to be part of defining that for her, and Mr. Peanutbutter, being a golden retriever(co-dependent) is more than willing to accept this responsibility because he thinks it's his job and this leads them both off track from nurturing each other into a healthy relationship because they're both looking to be defined in a major way by their partner instead of figuring out how to really define themselves.

I'm waiting for the episode that causes a 1hr podcast to happen lol. That aside I think one of the key things to examine was when diane was basically like is it ok if i change and you don't and we still love each other? I viewed that as she didn't say and we still be together, but just that they'll still love each other because obviously a situation like that will cause animosity in some form.

The added height from the middle kid is literally just the length of his back, because he is sitting on the bottom kids shoulders, and the top kid is sitting on his shoulders. They're not standing on each others heads!

In later seasons these after episode discussions might last an hour at this point lmao. Great content thanks.

You guys always have a great take on relationship situations. This episode served up a lot of it. During the discussion you guys reminded me of Wanda and Bojack in the car; "Because your friends got into a fight, we have to get into a fight" lol. Great points back and forth. Mr. Peanutbutter and Diane's fight through the house is cringingly accurate. Sarcastically arguing that the other person is demonizing you for trying to do something good, saying you must be evil for it. Its so dumb but happens to most at some point i feel. I can relate to Bojack and the self sabotage that can occur. Especially when your mood and stress level fluctuates. Wanda's not joke, joke is great. I have a relationship with someone who has a similar outlook and calmness about not overthinking things or taking things on that you can't control. It can be frustrating to mesh with as someone on the other end of the spectrum who falls into patterns of obsessing over stuff.

Purple Hearts

I love your guys' nuanced and mature discussion on Diane and Mr. Peanutbutter's relationship. It is a very complicated relationship and they both have their flaws. Even though Mr. Peanutbutter is a nice guy who obviously cares he clearly has difficulty with listening or changing. So many people online immediately jump on the Diane hate train and don't take a step back and take an honest look at the relationship as a whole.

btw, we don't know how long Mr. Peanut Butter and Diane have been together at this point, as far as we know it could've been years. you do find out when they met later though
