Korra is less "explosive" yes, but that's supposed to denote more of a control, even with her normal bending of Fire, Water or Earth.

2020-10-17 02:45:53 +0000 UTCI think that as you watch the series, you get used to the power on display, and that maybe gives you the impression that Kora is a weaker bender than Aang. But go back and compare Aang's first display of his power in the avatar state- when he gets knocked off Zuko's boat and then jets up out of the water afterwards. Korra does the exact same maneuver in this last episode, no avatar state needed.
