That's what you think the problem is? No, the Real Problem resides with the VN viewers and it always has because they have allowed their supposed "superior" viewing experience with the VN to bleed over into the Ufotable Anime Adaptations. The VN viewers because of this have ensured that there is a nearly endless debate war that causes countless people to ditch the series entirely who just want to know what order to watch the anime in; this is true for both the Anime AND the VN. Here's my statement of fact once more: Ufotable's Anime Adaptations for Fate should be watched in chronological order (Zero comes first always in the anime); the Ufotable Anime Adaptations should Not influence the VN and the VN should Not influence the Ufotable Anime Adaptations as far as their individual watch orders because they are Separate.... the anime is it's Own Adapatation. The VN viewers made a MISTAKE that has caused people that I know in real life and those I don't online to completely ditch the series. I have two friends in particular that I know in real life and stay in contact with online almost every day... Both of them refused to watch the series after asking online about what to watch first because that led to a heated debate involving them that ended with VN VIEWERS telling them to "just go watch the VN instead of the anime because the VN is better anyway". I managed to get one of those friends to watch the Anime years later after I told him to ignore everyone else and just start with Fate Zero; he wound up loving it. Imon and Abby are "Reactors" and they're very unlikely to react to the Visual Novel because it's a VN; they react to Anime and TV Shows just like the Vast Majority of other "Reactors" channels on Youtube. You want to talk about them reacting to Fate 06 or hell even the 3 part movie series "Heaven's Feel"? Yeah, that's probably never going to happen.... ever and I know you know it. That's another wrench thrown into the plans/intentions of VN viewers with regards to their "Absolute Watch Order" for the Anime adaptations exclusively. Imon and Abby are probably only going to watch Fate Zero and then UBW... after that we probably won't see anymore Fate related content from them for a very long time if ever. Furthermore, It wasn't a mistake skipping the Fate/Saber route either because Studio Deen had already done it; yes their adaptation was mediocre but it was a done deal. I hope that one day Ufotable adapts that route, I highly doubt it will happen but I would LOVE if they adapted it because I absolutely LOVE Saber as a character and ADORE the voice of Saber's Japanese Voice Actress. I swear... every time I get into one of these brief debates related to Fate I come out feeling like a pissed off Hades from "Disney's Hercules" after he's attempted to deal with a Hercules that doesn't know any better but somehow still goes on about business like usual after everything's all said and done. TL;DR Again, the Ufotable Anime Adaptations and the VN are Separate! and Neither of them should ever influence the watch order of the other. It has led to an endless debate war between "super genius's" on both sides that can't see the Real Problem staring them in the face. Both sides that are still bickering about it are at fault for not addressing the Real Problem causing the never ending debate and I'm sick and tired of dealing with the one side in particular. With regards to the Ufotable Anime Adaptations.... Fate Zero will always come first... forever; it was released first.

See? This is the problem. I said not to watch Zero before Stay Night and you automatically brought up UBW. The FSN routes aren't standalone entries, but parts of an overarching narrative in which all three are essential for the overall story to be compelling. That's just the way Fate/SN was written UBW isn't a standalone series. Zero CAN BE a standalone. You're not supposed to know the stuff Zero tells you before experiencing Stay Night. But you can learn the few things Stay Night tells you about the 4th Holy Grail War before starting Zero and your experience won't suffer from it. That's just due to the way both stories were written. Having said that, UBW isn't a recommended entry point to FSN nor Shirou as a character either because it's the 2nd act of the story. Ufotable's biggest mistake was skipping the Fate route, which leaves Deen's mediocre adaptation as the only anime version of the route available to this date. Heaven's Feel works so well despite not having the best adaptation because it has the background and characterization given by UBW. UBW doesn't have the same going for it because it lacks a proper Fate route adaptation.

Dorohedoro is so fucking good and unique and it's killing me that's it's losing. Plus it's a breezy 12 episodes and Halloween appropriate! Erased and Fate are both great, but also way more well known so it kinda feels like an unfair fight 😩

+1 to Bungou Stray Dogs, Each character serves as a book/author recommendation and it has a lot of literary history weaved into its story and relationships, yet it's still strong as a standalone anime without knowledge of those tidbits. I'd love to see what y'all of all reacters think of it!

Although it may not win the poll, i really hope you react to Erased eventually at some point. It’s only a few episodes but the pacing is perfect and each episode is very impactful and exciting!! It is such a beautiful anime

Couldn't agree more dude. It's such a uniquely awesome show. Great/Funny characters, amazing world building and the animation totally reminds me of like a modern day Akira or Ghost in the Shell. It's such a shame because if more channels would take the time to react to it, instead of just watching the exact same anime other channels are reacting to, it could be a big boost for the anime. Don't get me wrong F Zero is a great anime but it would be nice to see some channels react to some lesser known anime instead of just relying on the popular vote.

You're both right and wrong about that in my opinion "it not mattering which you start with because it's a prequel"; it's like Star Wars in that Zero is a prequel but that's the extent of it. All of that is exclusive to the VN, the anime is it's own adaptation; it has an intended watch order which is the release order. Zero has a slow world/character building start and they should get that out of the way first because it's story is a part of the foundation going into UBW.... in the VN it's the other way round of course.... but they aren't watching the VN.... they're watching the anime.

It literally doesn't matter what order you watch it imo. It's like Star Wars. Whatever one you watch first, prequel or sequel (or originals in SW's case) l, it'll spoil the other one. It doesn't matter.

Fate Zero absolutely can be watched before stay nights, as the Fates franchise is so convoluted in its lore that you might as well just watch the best one of the bunch (Zero). Banana Fish is seriously incredible and can't recommend it enough. Relatively short as well which means it won't take too long to get through.

You know, back when Monty was around I would sometimes provide tech support for them on the show. They were using Poser for the animation and I was on the team that made the software. After he passed, they switched to Maya I believe but those were fun times.

Oh look someone that's seen the VN.... I'll admit the first half of Zero is slow but the latter half is edge of your seat good, I prefer the story in Zero more; to me it was a special kind of "sweet". UBW on the other hand has much better animation with regards to spells, even the fights; going from that to Zero would be noticeable for them. Zero's animation isn't bad, I love it but those differences are noticeable. The anime is it's own adaptation, it should be viewed in release order even if most of the first half of Zero is mostly character development and world building. Yes, both versions spoil each other to some extent but I personally feel that UBW takes more away from Zero with regards to it's story... the ending in particular which I won't go into here. I don't expect them to watch the 3 part movie series "Fate Heaven's Feel"... maybe they will but I doubt it. I'm not even sure if the third part has been released yet because of covid... I haven't checked myself.

People shouldn't be recommending them to watch Fate/Zero before Fate/Stat Night. It doesn't matter if the events of Zero chronologically happen before Stay Night. Prequels are meant to be watched after the main story with the goal of enhancing it, not the other way around. watching Zero first it takes away the surprise factor from Stay Night since you already spoiled yourself on most of the mysteries and twists in it. However, watching Zero after Stay Night further elevates the impact of Zero without hampering the viewer's impression on Stay Night.

Watching Erased would be amazing. I would not recommand Fate/Zero before watching 2014's Fate/Stay Night, so I'm conflicted..(But Fate/Zero can be watched before Fate/Stay Night in term of chronology anyway)

Erased is super good and probs not gonna win but y'all would love banana fish too. the thing is it's not popular because people who refused to watch it only didn't because there is like a few yaoi scenes when th entire show isn't just yaoi and it's way deeper than that.
