OMG this was so funny that they didn't get the cause of his last death. I realized the first time I watched Re:Zero what was going on.

Then I apologise and will edit the post, I've watched the series twice so know after this it goes on to something a bit big and white and don't recall when it's addressed afterwards, only that it did before the episode.

Bruh, it literally addresses it in the next few episode, and the way they do it is really nice. You posting this comment just ruined that experience for them and any newcomer reading your comment. Even if there are hints in earlier episodes, it doesn't mean it's definite until a reveal in the show happens.

The show doesn't explain it after it happens. If at that point you don't know it's Puck or missed that the two that use Ice and water are Puck and Emillia and is why the room and cultists are frozen then you never will. I don't know if the Manga addresses it, but the show doesn't, because they already mentioned it in earlier episodes or show the power in earlier episodes. I assume you are watching with Abi and Imon for the first time, otherwise you'd already know this.

there are so many easter eggs sprinkled throughout season 1 that won't be revealed until season 2. things that build the world, details about the powers of certain characters, etc.

What I love most about these looks it's how much it helps build the world. Like, there's shit going on in the background that have far reaching consequences, and the only view point we have to see them is from Subaru's failed loops when he has next to no context for the horror he is witnessing, just like the viewer. So, it's all appropriately shocking, but it makes everything feel so much more alive.
